Islam is basic to their commitment to the faith. But interest among non-Muslims to know about Islam is also very significant, for a variety of reasons. This interest is growing in both quarters. The Qur’ān is the primary source to turn to for the correct knowledge and understanding of Islam. Establishing an institute in the UK dedicated to facilitating the study of the Qur’ān and of the associated Islamic disciplines of knowledge branching off from the Qur’ān, catering for all, is therefore a need waiting to be fulfilled. The goal of AQIL is, Insha ‘Allāh, to offer structured courses in all subjects of traditional curriculums for higher studies and qualifications in Islamic Education in the UK together with short self-development courses, with the British socio-cultural context in mind, through full and part-time schooling
