This is a lovely post 💖 singing rhymes and repeating the songs time and time again encourages the development of rhythm and rhyme, memory and sequencing.
Believe it or not, this lays the foundations for early phonics (phase one), this promotes supports children and babies with their listening skills and sound discrimination.

Developing memory through sequencing and repetition through nursery rhymes and rhyming songs is a wonderful way to build relationships and form strong loving bonds, and helps children to begin to learn the art of rhyming words and through moments of pause, babies can learn the art of conversation amd turn taking through sounds, ooohs and ahhhs.

This can be extended further by playing with words and replacing initial sounds with other phonemes, creating funny rhymes. It’s just lovely!

Thank you to CAMHS Professionals for sharing and promoting the importance of singing to or with babies and children 🙏❤️

🎵💖🎶A BABIES PERSPECTIVE: 10 THINGS I LEARN WHEN YOU SING TO ME🎶💖🎵

Whether it's comforting them with their favourite lullabies or passing the time on long car journeys, singing is a part of everyday life for lots of parents.

However, what you might not know is that singing also has lots of health and developmental benefits for your little ones.

Singing out loud releases feel-good hormones called endorphins that make you feel happy and positive.

There is also a tiny part of your inner ear, called the sacculus, that releases even more happy hormones when it’s stimulated by music.

Not only is it good for your mental health and mood, but research has shown that singing can actually help build your children's brain development and overall immune system.

Singing to babies prepares them for communicating later in life as it helps them get used to the structure and inflections of their native language.

Singing also strengthens their lips and tongues which encourages clear speaking, and also expands their vocabulary.

Well done 👏 Phonics Stars Dartford what an amazing orange tree!

We love a challenge in our public classes and last week it was to add oranges to my tree to stop it looking bare!

Not only did this activity help to develop fine motor skills by threading and pe***ng the oranges to the tree but it also helped with counting and number recognition💫

I wonder what help I will need this week when we play with the d sound?🦖🦕🦖🦕

How very true this is

Peaceful parenting is often more about focusing on our own growth, healing, and behavior.

Are we modeling the things we want to see in our children? Cuz if not, I guarantee that they will sniff out our hypocrisy!

That’s not to say that we should feel shame for not being perfect models. When we recognize how hard it is for us to live up to our ideals, we can have more empathy for our children when they struggle too. We can soften and have more grace as we all learn to be human together. 💗
