- My name is Ashley Tin, and I am a passionate 9-year-old violinist. Thanks to the Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme, I have had the opportunity to use a violin that has truly transformed my musical journey. The instrument provided by the scheme resonates with beautiful and vibrant tones, surpassing the quality of my previous violin. Playing this violin gives me a deep sense of satisfaction. I really love this violin.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Benslow Music Scheme for their invaluable support and belief in my musical aspirations. Their generosity has enabled me to flourish as a musician and achieve significant milestones. I am truly grateful for the opportunities they have provided.
With the violin from the Benslow Music Scheme, I have accomplished remarkable achievements. In the Richmond Music Festival of March 2023, I proudly secured 3rd place (bronze) in the Junior Intermediate category, showcasing the progress I made with this remarkable instrument. In July 2023, I successfully passed the ABRSM Grade 7 violin exam with merit, a testament to the exceptional playability of the instrument. Additionally, I participated in the Kingston Music Festival of November 2023, where I proudly claimed 3rd place (bronze) in the Strings: 9 years & under category.
Continuing my musical journey, I participated in the Richmond Festival of March 2024, where I attained remarkable achievements. I was awarded 2nd place in the Junior Recital category, 2nd place in the Friends & Family category, and 3rd place in the Junior Concerto category. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of the Benslow Music Scheme.
