World Earth Day 🌎 planting flowers

Photos from Making Memories Childminding's post 26/03/2026

Today we had a wonderful trip to the park, and the children had so much fun exploring and being active outdoors.
The swings were definitely the favourite! We turned it into an imaginative game where we pretended we were flying to the moon πŸš€ We counted down together β€œ5, 4, 3, 2, 1… blast off!” and zoomed into space, which the children absolutely loved. This supported their counting skills, listening, and imagination.
The children also enjoyed running around, playing football, and exploring nature. We found big sticks and flowers, encouraging curiosity and conversations about the world around us.
It was a lovely, active day full of laughter, movement, and imaginative play 🌼⚽

A beautiful review from one of my families i provided care for.

We couldn’t have asked for a better childminder than Kelly. I prefer child minders I always dreaded nursery an as a busy working mum she is great sending photos so I could see his life while at work .
From the very beginning, she created a warm, nurturing, home-based environment that was the perfect balance for our son during his early years. It gave him that important space away from home to grow, learn, and build social skills, while still benefiting from the one-to-one attention that every child needs.
I love the activities and have so much love and respect for her for the commitment and consistency she brings .
Kelly’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine care really stood out. She played a huge role in shaping our son’s development , he is now the most polite engaged learner and we truly believe that is a reflection of the positive influence and guidance he received in her care.

She was also incredibly supportive with key milestones, especially potty training, and consistently focused on each child’s individual needs and development. Her approach to social engagement helped our son grow in confidence and interact positively with others.

We are so grateful for everything Kelly has done and would highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring, attentive, and dedicated childminder.

Following Children’s Interests – The Hungry Caterpillar πŸ›πŸŽ
The children have been really enjoying The Hungry Caterpillar story, so today we focused on a simple sequencing activity.
We used picture cards from the story and supported the children in putting them into order. They explored the different foods from the book, picking them up and placing them onto the matching pictures.
During the activity, we talked about the foods, counted together, and used simple words and sounds from the story. Some children joined in with familiar phrases and attempted to retell parts in their own way.
The children were very engaged and enjoyed repeating the activity several times, showing growing confidence and understanding through play.

Following children’s interests today πŸ’›
From rolling and counting Easter eggs πŸ₯š to creating play-dough gardens with flowers and daffodils 🌼
A little bee we made sparked lots of questions, so we learnt about how bees make honey 🍯 and even tasted some!
We then went on a bee hunt in the garden 🐝 before enjoying football, cars, and water play washing muddy toys πŸš—πŸ’¦
Child-led learning at its best ✨
