LIFE SKILLS AT HOUSE

This morning in pre school for life skills, we learnt how to butter our bread and crackers! We learnt how to hold a knife n the correct way and did great spreading!

This afternoon, the babies took part in this animal themed activity focusing on the important life skills of navigating and problem solving as they had to help the animals get to their food.

Yesterday, our Toddlers had a visit from the local fire station too!

ART CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

Lots of creative processes happening today across all age groups.
Our littlest explored textures by painting on tin foil, our preschoolers enjoyed salt painting creating intriguing patterns and our toddlers had great fun creating their own paint slide!

Good morning, today in the baby room, we explored magnets for science. We used our fine motor skills to hold the magnetic and pick up magnetic objects from the water! We absolutely loved this!

For 'fitness club' today, the pre-schoolers went out to the garden to practise their fine and gross motor skills to explore their outdoor environment. The babies also enjoyed a visit to the park.

What wonderful happy babies we have in the Beaumont House baby room! Out littlest members enjoyed showing us how caring they can be - showing an interest in and learning to look after their dolls as part of Life Skills club. We also enjoyed lots of fun water play.

Today in babies for science club, we made a blue ocean using milk and paint and made the fishes swim! We put some soap on the fishes and watched the reaction happen!

NATURE CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

For today's nature club toddlers have been interested in animals, so we decided to do animal prints making patterns; talking about the different shapes we could, see and using different colours.

The preschoolers went out to the garden and collected leaves and sticks which we then used for our dinosaur sensory tray! and our babies created beautiful crowns from natural resources in honour of the new king!

Today for fitness club, the babies practised their balancing skills on the balance beam! We then ended our fitness club with a big game of football!

LIFE SKILLS @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

This afternoon the preschool children had a go with handling tools: we listened to the instructions given by our teachers and spoke about eye safety and why it is important to have goggles on before we started.

We had a choice between using a watermelon and a wooden block or both, the children very quickly discovered the difference when you hammer into a water melon and the building blocks and found it was much easier using the watermelon.

Our builders worked ever so hard using their hand-eye coordination and of course their muscles 💪.

The babies had a talk on 'safety when using the scissors' - holding scissors correctly cutting along the line. We cut lots of different shapes and lines of different sizes.

NATURE CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

For nature club today the toddlers explored the garden and looked for different animals in a scavenger hunt.

While out in the garden our amazing preschool have shown a big interest in snails. We decided our snails need a house, so our preschoolers made a beautiful five star 🌟 hotel for the snails that we have collected. We made the hotel out of leaves, flowers, and some pretty glittery paper.

While taking a closer look the preschoolers observed the snails and looked at the snails shell and its swirl, with our gentle hands some of us were brave enough to even have a even closer look at them.

When it was time to go we thanked the snails for their stay and released the snails, we hope to see them again soon as potential customers again.

SCIENCE CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

What an incredibly inventive day we've had! For this morning's science club activity they were interested in the pipe cleaners by using different coloured magnets also they were able to pick them up - and water was added for an extra dimension.

Today, one of our pre-schoolers spoke about 'what an inventor is' so we decided to expand this with science club and learn all about the famous inventor that invented the famous telephone 'Alexander Graham Bell'. We spoke about what an inventor is and if the children were to come up with an idea what would they create, we had had lots of great ideas 💡.

The children looked at the different generations/versions of phone and how it has managed to evolved from each other throughout the years.

The babies attempted to make 'volcano foam'. This was a great way to promote their fine motor skills as they mixed different amounts of substances. We then extended on this by creating a sensory tray full of our favourite animals.

From mixing colours to exploring shadows and learning all about our planet - the Beaumont children have been enjoying a variety of science opportunities today - all curated by our fantastic teams.

ART CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

Today our babies used paint to create different patterns shapes and colours! The babies enjoyed playing with and rolling balls so we incorporated this into art club today whilst practicing our colours too.

Miss Kelly also set up a painting activity where they used Lego for printing on the paper to explore this they were using their fingers to mark making.

Our pre-schoolers enjoyed the sunshine in the garden. The children sat down on a blanket and spoke about how shadows are made before choosing our favourite dinosaur and used the dinosaurs to draw around its shadow on our clipboard.
The children made a few observations and spoke about how the shadows made can be big or small and how when you would rotate the dinosaur the shadows shape changes.

We have been very busy here in the preschool room creating nature collages using lots of natural resources such as sticks, flowers and leaves.

We made a big collage with all our friends and then got together to make individual ones which looked so great too, both will be stuck on to our windows and doors for the sunlight to hit and show everyone our fantastic creation!

Today for nature club, as the babies are loving the ducks at the river, we went to the library to read some books about ducks! When we got back to nursery, we decorated our own ducklings using glitter and feathers!

The preschool and toddlers took part in a fun science experiment and made a lava lamps we carefully poured in all the ingredients and then all looked at the bubbles floating to the top of the jar, we loved it so much that we made two more using green and blue food colouring.

Today in preschool for art club, we made chalk paint and went outside to practise drawing our shapes! We made squares, circles and ovals!

The babies also chose their own coloured paint and what tools they wanted to paint with and got messy!

SCIENCE CLUB @ BEAUMONT HOUSE

Today for science club we were dinosaur/fossils experts, we spoke about what happened to the dinosaurs long ago and how they became fossils, which we were lucky to get a hold of !😲

we uncovered the layer of glitter to discover the different dinosaurs fossils with our paintbrush and the preschool discussed which dinosaur we thought it was before taking a closer look with our magnifying glasses!

Today, the babies did a science experiment about washing hands: using soap to move pepper (germs) away from their hands. We did this as they love water play and it teaches them about hygiene.
