The newly released DfE pupil absence figures reveal a concerning picture for our most under-resourced learners:
1.29 million pupils persistently absent in autumn 2025/26.
Severe absence on the rise in primary and special school settings.
SEN and FSM eligible pupils continue to face the highest rates of absence.
When a child reaches a crisis point, traditional settings often need immediate, flexible support to keep them connected to learning.
Our Partnerships Director, Tamsin, shares how trauma-informed tuition offers a clear path to re-engage these pupils safely and sustainably. 💡

The "summer slide" refers to the dip in skills and confidence over the school break and is something that many parents and carers worry about.
Here’s a gentle reminder for August 💙
Re-engaging with learning doesn't need to be overwhelming. For young people facing additional barriers, small moments make a big difference. You can preserve progress through low-pressure routines, interest-led activities, and consistent encouragement.
What are your favourite ways to keep learning low-pressure this month?

Top-tier academic tutoring can only truly transform a student’s outcomes when the right barriers are removed first. If a young person is navigating anxiety, attendance challenges, or digital poverty, academic support alone isn't always enough.
That’s why we are so proud to officially announce our partnership with ReconnectEd!
By combining Reconnected’s specialised wellbeing, emotion coaching, and engagement support with our targeted, high-quality subject tutoring, we are building a research-backed model designed to ensure under-resourced learners have everything they need to show up, engage, and thrive.
Together, we’re bridging the gap between emotional readiness and academic achievement.

KCSIE 2026 includes the most extensive updates we have seen in recent years.
The Department for Education has published the updated statutory safeguarding guidance.
Released just as schools wind down for summer, these changes mean leadership teams must act quickly to prepare for September.
How is your setting planning to manage and implement these transitions before the new term begins? Let us know your thoughts or questions in the comments below! 👇

Nothing beats hearing this feedback. 💙
For many students, a crowded classroom can make it hard to speak up or ask for specific help. That’s why personalised, 1-to-1 tutoring is such a game-changer.
By creating a safe, comfortable space, tutors like Lara can help students like Sara find their voice, address their exact learning needs, and get a major confidence boost. ✨
Shoutout to Lara and all of our incredible tutors making a real difference every day!
