It’s one of the most common 11+ comprehension hurdles — the unfamiliar phrasing, the long sentences, the words children just don’t meet in everyday reading. And the cure is wonderfully simple: familiarity. The more classic writing a child works through, the less daunting it becomes.

Before our book club even begins, something lovely arrives at your child’s door.
Every child receives a personalised welcome package — their very own copy of the book we’ll be exploring, alongside a special invitation welcoming them to the club.
It’s a small touch, but it matters. It turns the very first day from a lesson into an occasion — something a child feels genuinely excited to be part of before they’ve even turned a page. Reading should feel special from the very first moment, and this is where that begins.
It’s one of the small ways we make our Book Club feel like something to look forward to, not something to be tested on.

Our autumn programmes are designed for ambitious families preparing their children for entry into leading independent schools. Every session is taught by experienced, fully qualified teachers, in small groups of just 4 to ensure personalised attention and meaningful progress.

This term we’re offering:
Year 4 & Year 5 Comprehension Skills
Year 3, Year 4 and Upper Book Club

12 sessions, September to November, all on Zoom.

Spaces are limited to 4 children per group, so we’d encourage early registration. Message for full details and to register your interest.
