Happy Earth Day 🌍
As an art class organisation with an average of over 5,000 students each term, we are very aware of the amount of paper and materials we use. It is something we take seriously, and we are always looking at ways to reduce our impact while still delivering high quality classes.
For the past 16 years, we have worked closely with Seawhite of Brighton Ltd, a supplier that shares our commitment to sustainability. Their approach goes far beyond simply supplying materials. They actively look for ways to reduce waste and rethink how products are made.
From producing recycled paper using materials such as coffee cups, to powering their operations with solar panels, they are constantly innovating.
Many of the products our students use, including sketch pads and portfolio holders, are made from recycled or recyclable materials, helping us to make more responsible choices across the board.
Within our classes, we also encourage students to be mindful of waste. This includes careful use of materials and responsible disposal of unused acrylic paint that cannot be salvaged.
When each student participates in these small, considered choices, it creates a meaningful impact across the entire network over the course of a year, five years, ten years, and beyond.
If you love art and care about the environment, we have got you covered.
Happy Earth Day everyone!

Week 9 marked the start of our first 4 weeks of acrylics 🎨
After weeks of building up drawing skills and working in other media, it was so lovely to see everyone dive into colour with such enthusiasm. This week’s Tulips in Bloom project gave everyone the chance to start playing with layering, brushwork and colour mixing in acrylics 🌷
