East London School of Classical Music At the East London School of Music, students receive high quality classical music tuition.

The East London School of Music is a small charity dedicated to promoting the art and training of classical music for the public good, particularly focusing on supporting children and families from black and ethnic minorities. The school is a non-profit musical organisation, and for this reason, we have kept our fees low and affordable for anyone wanting to learn a musical skill and the art of classical music. Therefore, potential students will receive quality musical training that is both affordable and enjoyable. We offer training to people of all ages (from 5 years of age and upwards) together with a supportive environment where students and Tutors can flourish and work together in order to develop and enhance musical abilities, composition and performance.

950 pipes. 12 young musicians. One historic organ about to fall silent.

We give credit to our wonderful organ builder who rescued the Nelson “Catchgate” Organ from destruction on behalf of the East London School of Classical Music — and now we need your help to keep it playing. Featured on BBC News, this remarkable instrument is the heart of our free community concerts and the reason a new generation of young Londoners can train as classical musicians, at no cost to their families.

But it needs urgent repairs. Without the repairs, it stays silent.

We’re raising £25,000 to bring it back to life — and you can be part of it from day one.
