📚DIY Pop-Up Book Creation (with Lijie Zhang)
• Dive into the world of pop-up books and create your own interactive masterpiece!

🌸On March 29th, we hosted our Easter Special Illustration Workshop, and it was an absolute blast! 🎨✨

Our exciting ice-breaker activity was a marbling egg session, where each child got to create their own unique egg to use in their Easter-themed illustrations. 🐣💕

✨💌Here are the Instructions for Marbling Craft

📝Materials Needed:
• Thick white paper
• Cheap shaving foam
• Inks or watercolours
• Pipettes (for inks)
• Foil tray
• Piece of cardboard (to scrape off foam)

🌟📝Steps:

1. Add shaving foam: Spray a layer of shaving foam into the foil tray.

2. Add ink: Use a pipette to add drops of ink or watercolour onto the foam (no more than 3 colours for best results).

3. Swirl colors: Use a stick, spoon to gently swirl the ink together without mixing completely for a marbled effect.

4. Press paper: Carefully press a piece of cardstock onto the marbled foam, ensuring it makes full contact.

5. Scrape off foam: Lift the paper and use a piece of cardboard to gently scrape off the excess foam, revealing the design.

6. Repeat: Reuse the shaving foam if you‘d like to create more marbled papers!

7. Dry: Lay your marbled paper flat and allow it to dry completely.

Once dried, your marbled paper can be used for cards, decorations, and other creative projects!

We were amazed by the creativity on display and can’t wait to see how these eggs inspire the kids‘ illustrations. 🖌️💡

🚀 Here comes the L&L brothers! 🚀 In our last workshop, the creativity was off the charts, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our little storytellers accomplished. Let’s take a look at their amazing worlds:

🦅 Louis unleashed his imagination to create a mythical creature - half eagle, half leopard! This mischievous beast loves to annoy the monkeys by destroying trees in the forest 🌳🐵. Using wild and bold styles, Louis brought a truly magical and adventurous atmosphere to life!

🌸 Meanwhile, Lucas, the younger brother, built a completely different world - a magical forest filled with his favourite animal friends. 🌳This whimsical environment was pure joy and brought storytelling to life in the most heartwarming way.

”Every time I complain about them throwing things everywhere, I also dislike it for taking up space. Whenever the brothers show me their drawings, I pretend to say they are great and nice, but I never ask him why he drew that or where their inspiration came from. As a result, their works have been thrown into the bin one by one.

Until today, I was fortunate to be guided by the renowned psychological illustrator, Jo Rooks. children easily expressed their favourite colours, animals, and their personality traits. I finally understood that introverted children may not have well-developed language skills, but they can express their inner world through words and drawings.
