A typical lesson might include time spent looking at technique, music theory and harmony, rhythm and sight-reading skills. For those wishing to go through the ABRSM grade system, we are experienced in preparing students for these exams. During lessons we often recommend books and resources to work from for practicing at home. We are aware that many people feel daunted by the prospect of learning an instrument, particularly if they have little or no musical experience. Sometimes in a lesson we might work on piano chords and songs that are current. We can also provide sheet music for students wishing to learn specific songs. The teaching team are sensitive to the individual needs of each student, and lessons are appropriately challenging as well as enjoyable and rewarding.
