โจ A joyful morning at Bassett House School โจ
Today, we were delighted to welcome so many wonderful families to our Nursery Stay & Play session, a special opportunity for children and parents to experience the warmth, care, and sense of community that sits at the heart of life at Bassett House School ๐
As part of our Nursery offering, children are able to join us from the age of two, and sessions like these are such a lovely way for families to begin imagining what those first steps into school life could look like.
Throughout the morning, the children explored, played, discovered, and settled into their surroundings so naturally while parents spent time chatting with our teachers and Head of Early Years, asking questions, getting to know our approach, and seeing first-hand the nurturing environment we create for every child.
Whether families are already enrolled, still considering their next steps, or simply beginning to explore options, these sessions offer a meaningful glimpse into the earliest stages of the Bassett House journey - where confidence is gently built, curiosity is encouraged, and a genuine love of learning begins to grow.
There is something very special about watching young children begin to feel safe, happy, and excited in a new environment, and we loved sharing that experience with everyone who joined us today.
Due to the wonderful response to todayโs event, we are now welcoming bookings for our next Stay & Play session for Reception-aged children on Monday 18th May at 10am.
Families will have the opportunity to meet our Early Years team, explore the environment, and experience the nurturing, curiosity-led approach that makes Bassett House so special. Spaces are now limited, and we encourage families to book soon to avoid missing out.

The exhibition brought some of our most-loved fairytales and folklore to life through immersive storytelling, interactive displays, and beautifully imaginative spaces. From enchanted mirrors and glowing story scenes to intricate pop-up books and magical installations, every corner sparked curiosity and excitement.
The children loved exploring the exhibits together, listening carefully to the stories behind the displays, and discovering how tales passed down through generations continue to inspire readers around the world today. There were plenty of moments of wonder, thoughtful questions, and enthusiastic discussions throughout the day.
Trips like these are such an important part of learning at Bassett House School โ giving children the opportunity to experience literature, creativity, and history beyond the classroom in ways that feel memorable, meaningful, and fun ๐

๐ซ๐ท Year 6 in Paris โ what a week!
From Monday to Friday, our Year 6 pupils embraced every moment of their Parisian adventureโand what a journey itโs been โจ
They wandered the elegant streets beneath the Eiffel Tower, took in breathtaking views from above, and cruised along the Seine, seeing the city from a whole new perspective. At the Louvre, they stepped into the world of art and history, asking brilliant questions and making thoughtful connections beyond the classroom.
But this trip was about so much more than the landmarks. It was about navigating a new city, trying out French phrases with confidence, tasting new foods, and supporting one another every step of the way. Whether it was reading maps, buying souvenirs, or simply stepping outside their comfort zones, the growth weโve seen has been incredible.
There was laughter on every corner, friendships strengthened, and a real sense of independence developing as the week went on. These are the moments that stay with themโlong after the suitcases are unpacked.
At Bassett House School, we believe in giving our pupils experiences that challenge, inspire, and excite themโand this trip captured all of that and more. We couldnโt be prouder of how they represented the school ๐
