13 on the waitlist for my class tomorrow 😃
07/10/2025
Well after teaching at Orpington Methodist Church since 2019 tonight was the last Zumba class at this venue. Financially I can’t keep the class running so had to close it down. Hoping to find another venue with an earlier start time early next year. As one door closes hopefully another one opens .
Staying motivated to exercise can be challenging but with the right strategies and mindset you can make fitness rewarding.
Define your why you want to exercise
Set realistic goals- achieving smaller goals can motivate to continue.
Create a routine -incorporate exercise into your daily schedule.
Use positive reinforcement -Reward yourself for reaching a milestone no matter how small.
Track your progress as this can enhance your motivation.
Find an enjoyable activity as this makes it easier to stay committed.
Build a support system such as joining a fitness group.
Overcome barriers- having a plan in place will help you stay on track.
Why not come and join us at Orpington Methodist church on Tuesday evenings at 8pm for Zumba. Class is 45 mins and is suitable for all fitness levels. Any questions please feel free to contact me 👇
To the women who are too nervous to come to class. Now is the time to change that.
You want to do some exercise but talk yourself out of it. 🤷♀️
“What if I can’t keep up?
“ what if I get it wrong”
“Everyone will stare.” 👀
“I m too old” 👵🏻
“I’m not fit enough”
Think about what your goal is and why you want to do it. Believe in yourself that you can do it.
You’ll never be laughed at and it’s only me that will be watching you to ensure you are doing the class safely.
You won’t be judged but will be supported. You don’t have to get it right and don’t worry about making mistakes ( even sometimes I get it wrong or forget the steps)
Be brave and take that first step in coming to the class.
Zumba is for everybody no matter what your fitness level is or how old you are. Give it a try( what have you got to lose)

Is one of those reasons not to do exercise because of lack of motivation?
Sound familiar 👂
Do you tell yourself. Busy lifestyle or you have a perception of exercise as being boring or difficult.
How do you overcome this 🤔
1-Set realistic Goals.( Establish clear achievable goals)
2-Incorporate an enjoyable activity( If you find something you enjoy you are more likely to stick with it)
3-Start small(This can help build confidence and make exercising feel less daunting)
4-Join a fitness class( Having a support system can make exercising more enjoyable)
This is how I started out 14 years ago and I’m still exercising today.

Want to dance but you think you can’t because you tell yourself the following.
1-I have 2 left feet. No one is born to dance and it doesn’t matter if you are not a natural dancer just as long as you love dancing.
2- I’m not in shape- You don’t have to worry about being in shape and no matter what your ability level is you can take it at your pace and slowly you will build up your stamina.
3- I’m embarrassed and people will be watching me- The room will have beginners and those that have been in your shoes, so no need to feel embarrassed. They will be watching me to follow the choreography so won’t be watching you. The only person who will be watching you is me to make sure you are dancing safely.
