I don’t know what’s going on…
But suddenly everyone seems to be talking about “yapping” videos.
The phrase is everywhere.
Yap challenge.
Learn to yap.
Become a better yapper.
And honestly?
I find it fascinating.
Because from what I can see…
People have been doing this for years.
It’s just been given a new name.
At its core, a yapping video is simply someone talking naturally on camera.
Sharing an idea.
A story.
An opinion.
Like they’re having a conversation with a friend.
And I think that’s why it’s resonating.
Because for years people thought being good on camera meant performing.
Being polished.
Being perfect.
Getting every word right.
But the videos people connect with most?
Often feel like a conversation.
Not a presentation.
So here’s today’s action for you…
The next time you record a video, stop trying to sound impressive.
Imagine you’re talking to one friend who genuinely needs to hear what you have to say.
Because confidence on camera isn’t about performing.
It’s about connecting.

Happy Choose-day!
“You must make a choice to take a chance, or your life will never change.”
Simple.
But true.
Most people spend their time waiting…
Waiting for more confidence.
Waiting for the perfect opportunity.
Waiting until they feel ready.
Waiting until circumstances improve.
But waiting rarely creates change.
Choice does.
Many of the results in your life today can be traced back to choices you’ve made along the way.
And every result you’ll experience in the future will be influenced by the choices you make from this point forward.
The good news?
You don’t have to change everything today.
You just need to choose your next step.
One conversation.
One decision.
One action.
One opportunity.
One thing you’ve been putting off.
Because change rarely happens by accident.
It happens when you decide to stop waiting and start acting.
So on this Choose-day, ask yourself:
What’s one choice you could make today that your future self would thank you for?
Remember:
Believe + Action = Achieve.
Don’t record another video until you’ve done this one thing.
Most people press record and immediately start thinking:
“What should I say?”
And that’s where the overthinking begins.
They ramble.
Start again.
Delete takes.
And convince themselves they’re not good on camera.
But the real problem isn’t the camera.
It’s that they skipped the most important step.
Before you record your next video, decide who you’re talking to.
Not everyone.
One person.
A client.
A prospect.
Someone who needs your help.
Because the moment you know exactly who you’re talking to…
You stop performing.
And start having a conversation.
That’s when you sound more natural.
More confident.
More authentic.
Today’s takeaway:
Before your next video, imagine and even write down the name of one person you’re speaking to.
Then record as if you’re talking directly to them.
Try it on your next video and let me know how it feels. And Follow along for more camera confidence tips like this.

Consistency isn’t always doing your best every day…
It’s sometimes just doing what you can.
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” - Martin Luther King Jr.
One of the things I’ve noticed after working with clients for more than 20 years is that the people who succeed aren’t always the most talented.
They’re usually the ones who keep moving when others stop.
One of the biggest mistakes people make is believing progress only counts when it’s big.
It doesn’t.
Progress is progress.
Some days you feel unstoppable.
Some days you feel motivated, focused and full of energy.
Other days?
Not so much.
The challenge is that many people adopt an all-or-nothing mindset.
If they can’t do everything, they do nothing.
If they can’t do it perfectly, they don’t start.
If they miss a day, they give up altogether.
But real growth doesn’t work like that.
Success is rarely built through dramatic breakthroughs.
It’s built through small, consistent actions repeated over time.
That’s why I believe in constant, never-ending improvement…
Constant And Never-Ending Improvement.
Not perfection.
Not perfectionism.
Not having it all figured out.
Just a commitment to keep learning, keep adjusting, and keep moving forward.
Some days you’ll run.
Some days you’ll walk.
Some days you’ll feel like you’re crawling.
But as long as you’re moving forward, you’re making progress.
And that’s what matters.
So as we start a new week, ask yourself:
What’s one small step you can take today to keep moving forward?
Remember:
Believe + (consistent)Action = Achieve.
You know, there’s something I wish more people understood… because when they do…
Everything changes.
Most people think camera confidence is the goal.
So they spend months trying to feel more confident.
More comfortable.
More natural.
More ready.
And while they’re waiting…
They don’t post.
They don’t show up.
They don’t get seen.
But here’s what I’d love people to realise:
Confidence isn’t the goal.
Confidence is the by-product.
The real goal is consistency.
Because every time you show up on camera, you’re teaching your mind:
“This is safe.”
You’re building familiarity.
You’re collecting evidence.
And confidence starts growing naturally.
That’s why the most confident people on camera… usually didn’t start confident.
They just stayed consistent long enough for confidence to catch up.
So, Stop asking:
“How do I become more confident?”
Start asking:
“How can I become more consistent?”
Because confidence follows consistency.
Not the other way around.

They Aren’t More Confident On Camera Than You..
they just started sooner.
“It’s easy for you.”
I hear this a lot.
And every time I do, I smile.
Because if you’d seen my first attempts, you definitely wouldn’t have said that.
I tried to show up on camera more times than I can count.
I’d record a video.
Watch it back.
Cringe.
Delete it.
Tell myself I’d try again next week.
Then next week would arrive... and I’d find another reason not to.
Sound familiar?
What you see now — the confidence, the consistency, the videos — isn’t where I started.
It’s where I arrived after a lot of imperfect action.
The mistake most people make is comparing their beginning to someone else’s middle.
Or their chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten.
You don’t see the deleted takes.
The self-doubt.
The overthinking.
The false starts.
The times they wanted to quit.
You only see the finished version.
And then you tell yourself:
“It’s easier for them.”
But usually it isn’t.
They’ve just spent longer being uncomfortable.
What changed for me wasn’t a sudden burst of confidence.
It was a decision.
A decision to stop focusing on myself.
Stop worrying about the camera.
Stop worrying about what people might think.
And start focusing on the people I might be able to help.
One video.
One message.
One step at a time.
That’s when things started to change.
Because confidence doesn’t usually come before action.
Confidence comes from action.
From proving to yourself, repeatedly, that you can do the thing you once thought you couldn’t.
So if you’ve started and stopped...
Started and stopped again...
You’re not behind.
You’re not failing.
And you’re definitely not the only one.
You’re just still writing your story.
Keep going.
What’s one thing you’ve been telling yourself is “easier for everyone else”?

One of the things I love most about podcasts is where the conversation ends up going.
Today I had the pleasure of joining Becca Pountney | Wedding business consultant | on her award-winning Wedding Pros Who Are Ready to Grow podcast.
What started as a conversation about mindset quickly became an exploration of something I see holding so many talented people back:
The stories, beliefs, and assumptions running quietly in the background of their minds.
We talked about:
• Why success doesn’t automatically remove self-doubt
• How your mind can still be operating from an outdated identity long after you’ve grown
• The hidden beliefs that influence your decisions, confidence, and actions
• The avoidance strategies we create to stay safe and avoid discomfort
• Practical ways to reduce head noise and build confidence through action
• And one of my favourite topics right now - why so many people struggle to show up on camera, even when they know it’s good for their business
One of the biggest messages from our conversation was this:
Most people already know what they should be doing.
The challenge isn’t usually a lack of knowledge.
It’s the thinking, beliefs, and internal dialogue that stop them doing it consistently.
If you’ve ever found yourself knowing what to do but struggling to do it consistently, I think you’ll enjoy this conversation.
A huge thank you to Becca for the invitation, the thoughtful questions, and for creating such a relaxed and enjoyable conversation.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
And I’d love to know:
What’s one mindset challenge you’ve had to overcome in your business or career?

You aren’t stuck - it’s the story you keep telling yourself!
“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to become one of them.” - Ralph Marston
Most people think they’re stuck because they need:
• More confidence
• More knowledge
• More strategy
• Better equipment
• More time
But often that’s not the real problem.
The real obstacle is the conversation happening inside their own head.
The overthinking.
The perfectionism.
The self-doubt.
The endless “I’ll do it when…”
I’ll post when I’m more confident.
I’ll start when I know more.
I’ll show up when it’s perfect.
I’ll go for it when I feel ready.
Yet months (sometimes years) pass and nothing changes.
Not because they can’t do it.
Because they’re standing in the way of themselves.
I see this all the time with business owners and professionals who want to be more visible on video.
They know what to say.
They know video would help.
They know it could create opportunities, leads, clients and growth.
Yet they still hesitate.
Why?
Because the obstacle isn’t the camera.
It’s the beliefs, stories and assumptions they’re running.
The good news?
What has been learned can be unlearned.
What has been programmed can be updated.
And confidence is built through action, not waiting.
So here’s a question:
What’s one area of your life or business where you know you’re getting in your own way?
Drop it in the comments.
Awareness is often the first step towards change.
I hate to break it to you…
But not everyone is going to like you.
And that’s OK.
In fact, it’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.
A lot of people struggle with confidence on camera because they’re trying to create videos that everyone will like.
Everyone will agree with.
Everyone will connect with.
But that’s impossible.
And honestly?
It’s exhausting.
The most successful people on camera understand something different.
They don’t try to attract everyone.
They focus on attracting the right people.
Because video isn’t just a tool for visibility.
It’s one of the most powerful ways to build know, like and trust.
To let people get to know you.
Your personality.
Your values.
Your approach.
And yes…
Sometimes that means people decide you’re not for them.
That’s not a problem.
That’s actually a good thing.
Because every video should do two things:
Attract your ideal clients…
And repel the people who aren’t aligned and a good fit.
So, stop asking, “Will everyone like this?”
Start asking:
“Will my ideal client connect with this?”
Because the goal isn’t to be liked by everyone.
It’s to be known, liked and trusted by the right aligned people.

I stopped doing this… and my confidence improved.
You know, there’s something I stopped doing that everyone assumes is helpful when you’re trying to get better on camera.
And honestly…
My confidence improved almost immediately.
Every time I recorded a video, I’d watch it back.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Looking for mistakes.
How I sounded.
How I looked.
What I should have said differently.
I thought that’s how you improve.
But what it was actually doing…
Was training my mind to focus on flaws.
And the more flaws I found, the less confident I felt.
So I stopped.
Not completely.
But I stopped analysing every video like it was evidence for the prosecution.
Instead, after recording, I’d ask myself one question:
“What did I do well?”
And that’s when things started to shift.
Because confidence grows where focus goes.
So, After your next video, identify one thing you did well before you look for anything to improve.
