Strange way of meeting another Old Latymerian.
I was the Conductor of an ex Western National VR at Sundays Penzance Bus Rally, we were issued with a Setright ticket machine to register passenger journeys but I used my ex London Transport Gibson instead.
We picked up a lady at Praa Sands who was going to Marazion. I issued her with a free ticket and she said to me I was issued with those travelling from Palmers Green to School on the 29.
I asked which School and she said Latymer my old School. I was there 69 76 she was there 79 86 but we both had Mr Kelly as Head Teacher, unfortunately she had to get off before we could reminisce about other teachers that we both knew.
A strange way to meet and reminisce with another Latymerian but one that would never have happened if I hadn't been using a Gibson Ticket machine.
I bought my wife a turntable for Christmas (romantic eh?).
And today I found this.

Does anybody recall a John Pink. He was Deputy Head Teacher at a school in Edmonton when he died in 1980's. He had previously taught at Ambrose Fleming School, Enfield. Not sure if it was Latymer he moved to.
Fabulous surprise on a dull, wet Monday morning. Cheque for 1st prize in the Top 80 draw arrived in the post today!!
I have been living in Los Angeles, California for many years. I joined Latymer in 1952. I would love to find out if there are others from Latymer who live in Los Angeles or in the southern California area. It would be lovely to be in touch and perhaps after the age of COVID get together somewhere.
I’ve been living in Los Angeles for many years and have just connected with a person who was in my year at Latymer (1952) who lives nearby. I’d love to hear from anyone who lives in the Southern California area.
Hey LOSA, I was very disappointed to see disposable plastic cutlery at yesterday's reunion lunch. Can you tell me the justification for using single-use plastic rather than metal cutlery from the canteen, or recyclable wooden items? Thanks!
If anyone is going to the reunion on Saturday 6 July 19 as Emma has pointed out in another post there are no London Overground Rail Services at Edmonton Green with replacement buses running from Seven Sisters, Enfield Town and Cheshunt, for those that are further afield there are also closures on the Circle, Hammersmith and City, and Metropolitan Lines with no services at King's Cross on these lines. The Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines are serving King's Cross
There are normal TFL buses on route W6 to Haselbury Road from Southgate and Palmers Green, W8 from Enfield Town centre to Haselbury Road and routes 217 & 231 from Turnpike Lane to the Great Cambridge Road / Church Street junction. Glyn Calvert AIRO
Not sure if I've posted this up before, bur here's the 1987 Upper Sixth cohort in all its glory....
I thought old students might be interested in seeing this old postcard of the school currently for sale on Ebay.
