Catching up with the work I have done…

In 2017 I applied (unsuccessfully) several times to get my foot in the door of however life was not mature yet so it gave me time to professionalise myself and build a crystal clear vision of how my methodology and teachings should be structured. And here I am, 8 years later, educating in Waacking. I guess the Universe wanted me to choose myself first.

I always wanted to put my foot in the door of academic institutions to spread the benefits and rich knowledge that Waacking and punking can offer to new dancers and artists in general. With the intentions to provide the respect and appreciation this style deserves 💖

I took my time to make them walk through the history, elements, OG’s history and enrich them from my point of view. Get them clear about LGBT struggles back in the 70s and club culture was the place of development.

I had to create an assessment choreography to test them and here it was. Trying my best to blend the character, intention, posing and whack element so that they could grasp the idea of it.

In these times and industry, it is more and more difficult to educate and teach from the roots... But here I am and I won't stop doing it as Waacking deserves an educational and academic spotlight as important as Ballet or Hip-Hop.

As we grow our students too, so is important to me to leave my legacy and impact everywhere I go.

Even injured… I did my best 🌟

Now program 1 and 2 want to learn the choreography so I'll call that a success 🏆

APPRECIATION POST

Nothing to do with me and I hope it crosses like this.

The advances and progress I have witnessed in some of my students are simply inspirational.

They inspire me to be more and give more. Not only have they had their ups and downs but they have chosen themselves regardless of the circumstances, they just hold fort around their values and their boundaries.

Building their artist from within, that's all about to be honest and I couldn't be more proud.

I treasure every conversation and class we have together cause time flies and you never know how you'll end up. I know I wanted to mentor and I only needed to find the people who were hungry for it.

And I found them.

Look at them! In Paris and London! Aka Some of them were the first time battling aka and passing prelims aka here in our hometown but others went to Paris and swiped things out there! They earned it! They deserve that praise and I'm all for it.

Thank you to my students for the every Friday inspiration time, it is precious to me.

CHAPTER 39 - MAKING OFF AND APPRECIATION POST✨🎬

I can’t put into words how much gratitude I have for every single person who made CHAPTER 39 - TOUCH IT a reality.

This project has been in my mind since 2012, waiting for the right moment, the right people, and the right energy to bring it to life. And now, 15 years later, it finally happened; better than I could have ever imagined.

To my dancers, friends and colleagues , .tomic your energy, dedication, and artistry made this vision come alive in the most powerful way. Each of you brought something unique, and I am beyond honored to have shared this with you.

To Sofia .so.visuals , your talent behind the lens is unmatched. Thank you for capturing every moment with such precision, depth, and attention. This project wouldn’t be the same without your touch.

This is more than just a video; it’s a testament to patience, passion, and persistence. It’s proof that creativity never leaves you; it waits until you’re ready. And now, after all these years, it’s here.

I realize now that I was always right where I needed to be; I just didn’t see it for what it truly was. ♥️
