Nice light before rain falls on this afternoon’s rehearsal. And a nice acoustic behind me in St. Giles for this evening’s concert of Rameau, Leclair, Quantz, and Barsanti.

At the risk of repeating a post from last year, the day has dawned brightly for the first concert of the year.

A day of curious contrasts. Celebrations this morning as last year graduates then Cavalieri Lamentations this evening.

Also, the Barbican isn’t really falling down. Bits of it might be but not to the extent my iPhone suggests.

Oliver Webber has been in, working on ornamentation. I walked in at the end of the first three hour class to find them happily gracing multiple lines of polyphony.
