The spaces are for all day sessions and whilst ideally all the available days will be taken up by one child, we would gladly mix 'n match if possible - so worth asking.

De-cluttering to encourage imaginative play

The toy cupboard overflowed with piles of games, toys and gift items at Ben’s house. The pink plastic castle was something he didn't want, "But we had to keep it because it was Ben’s aunt who gave it to us and we wouldn't want to hurt her feelings." They certainly didn't need 5 helicopters– one or two would have sufficed.

A cluttered play environment can make children restless and unfocused. When toys do not lead to deep engagement, children are easily distracted and tend to flit between occupations. Having more stuff certainly does not make children happier and often stifles imagination. Since less equipment requires more imagination, try trimming back to a few open-ended toys and see what happens.

The calm environment at home enables the child to pursue his imagination without distractions

ACT BEFORE END OF JUNE FOR FEE entitlement

All children aged 3 & 4 years are entitled to 15 hours a week of early year’s education. This is now known as Free Early Education or FEE.

Children are entitled to their FEE in the term AFTER their third birthday and parents can choose where their child attends to receive the FEE, and a childminder or nursery is one of your options.
All children are entitled to 570 hours per year of free early education; this is the equivalent of 15 hour per week for 38 weeks of the year. If you have children who are coming up to 3 years of age, or recently turned 3, you need to be discussing this with your childcarer/nursery and tell them in plenty of time if you intend to use them for your FEE from September.
You should be aware that Barnet will pay for these hours at a set rate per hour.
Your childminder / nursery will need to let Barnet know by the end of this month if they wish to claim for a child from September.

Tax-free childcare for toddlers to be extended to under-12s The plan to cut bills for working families will mean that for every £8 that a parent pays for childcare, the government will pay £2 up to a maximum of £2,000 for each child.
