The Uni Milestone – Is your teenager on track?
Every school career has some key milestones such as moving from prep to senior school, taking 11+, GCSE and A-levels.  It all culminates in the final and perhaps most important milestone of choosing and applying to university.  This big step is usually the first time when teenagers start to take the lead in the whole process.  To help ensure everything is on track, we’ve prepared a guide to managing this important transition.  It’s available on the Insights page of our website.  The link is in the bio. Is there a family member who gets low when the clocks go back? It is estimated that up to 2.4% of the UK population experience Seasonal Affective Disorder, typically triggered by the loss of light and the start of winter. Schoolchildren are part of this statistic, which may be due to shorter days combined with changes to winter timetables including less time outdoors. Neurodiverse students can struggle more at this time of year too. But what can you do?
Some families will go as far as moving abroad for the duration, using an Enjoy homeschooling programme to ensure the best educational input is maintained. Others rely on our team of therapeutic experts and wellness mentors to help. If you’d like more information on managing the winter woes, don’t hesitate to contact us today.

Is homework an ever-present concern, not just for students but for the whole family? Statistics show that after-school learning at secondary stage can add up to an additional 5 months of learning. But the benefits are often forgotten in the heat of family disputes about how and when homework takes place. If you want to retain the advantages but lose the friction, then after-school tuition may be the perfect answer. There is more information in our latest blog about handling homework positively available on our website now.

Breaking the classroom boundaries:
Part of bespoke homeschooling allows lessons to be taught anywhere, at almost any time! It means homeschoolers can put their learning into context and not be restricted to the four walls of a classroom. From the ski slopes to the deck side, whether it is studying real life oxbow bends or seeing the realities of coastal erosion, everything is an opportunity to learn.
In school, field trips are a termly event, but homeschooling allows tutors to break the classroom boundaries and take their teaching out and about as the opportunity arises. Find out what homeschooling could mean to your family and contact us today through the link in our bio.

October is the month we focus on Dyslexia, with the international awareness day falling on the 8th. Dyslexia is a multi-faceted condition, presenting in many different ways that can morph over time.
It is why dyslexics need tailored support that flexes with them over time. The Good Schools Guide recently quoted an Enjoy parent who said we “could not have been more flexible with their time-tabling, and the subject specialists were so carefully matched to her learning needs”. If you are interested in finding out more about dyslexia, we have multiple resources and relevant blogs available on our website, or you can contact us today for more personal support.
