What a wonderful day we had at our HACS Summer Family Fun Day at St Martin’s Church in Ruislip! πŸ’š
It was fantastic to bring our HACS families together for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, creativity and community. From activities and games to spending time with friends and meeting new people, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🌈🎨🎈
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special. And of course, a massive thank you to our amazing HACS team and everyone at St Martin’s Church for helping us create such a welcoming space for our families. πŸ’š
Days like this remind us how important it is to create opportunities where neurodivergent children, young people and their families can connect, feel included and simply have fun together. πŸ₯°

πŸ“’ SEND Reform: What Could This Mean for Families?

The Government is expected to introduce a new Education for All Bill following its SEND reform consultation. As discussions continue, IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) has published a manifesto calling for important protections to remain in place for children and young people with SEND.

IPSEA is asking ministers to:

βœ… Protect existing legal rights for children and young people with SEND
βœ… Ensure support remains legally enforceable
βœ… Make sure no child is left behind, including those educated outside of school settings
βœ… Preserve families' rights to appeal decisions and access justice when support is not delivered

At HACS, we know how important these safeguards are for autistic children, young people and their families. We will continue to monitor developments and share updates as more information becomes available.

🌟 The difference a summer can make 🌟

This summer, one family has been attending our Better4Boys Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, and the impact has been truly inspiring.

In this video, they share how the programme has provided their children with opportunities to make friends, build confidence, try new activities, and enjoy a safe, supportive environment during the school holidays. For their family, Better4Boys has been much more than a holiday club, it has been a place where they feel understood, welcomed, and able to thrive.

We're incredibly grateful to all the families who trust us to be part of their journey and proud to see the positive difference these experiences can make.

πŸ’– Confidence Looks Different for Every Girl πŸ’–

Not every young person shows confidence in the same way.

For some, confidence means speaking up in a group. For others, it means trying a new activity, making a new friend, sharing an idea, or simply walking through the door for the first time.

At Good for Girls, we celebrate every step forward.

Our weekly group offers neurodivergent girls aged 10-14 a safe, supportive space to connect, build friendships, explore new activities, and grow in confidence at their own pace.

✨ Sport & movement 🎨 Arts & crafts πŸ’¬ Talking circles 🀝 New friendships πŸ’– A place where you can be yourself

πŸ’› We're pleased to support the incredible work of the Daniella Logun Foundation (DLF), a local charity that provides emotional, practical and wellbeing support to children and young people affected by cancer and their families.

As part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, DLF is hosting their 5th Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Uxbridge High School. Expect a fantastic afternoon of family fun, including bouncy castles, face painting, games, live entertainment, mascots, fire trucks and much more. Children attend free, with a small donation requested from adults.

This year's theme is to help raise awareness and funds for local families facing childhood cancer. πŸ’›

If you're looking for a fun family day out while supporting a great cause, we'd encourage you to come along and get involved.
