Yesterday, we celebrated the official opening of our newly renovated student accommodation with The Lady Mayor of the City of London, the Right Honorable Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley, alongside trustees, students, donors, alumni, staff, College partners, and project collaborators.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality. Here's to welcoming future generations of students to their new home!

As we celebrate the official opening of Goodenough College’s newly renovated student housing today, we are honoured to share a message from our Patron, His Majesty King Charles III:

“Please convey my warmest thanks to all at Goodenough College for their loyal greetings, sent on the occasion of the Opening of your Refurbished Accommodation at Mecklenburgh Square, which is being hosted today by the Lady Mayor of the City of London.
"As your Patron, I much appreciate your message of loyal greetings, and was heartened to be reminded of your long-standing commitment to supporting academics from across the world to foster international understanding and entertain new ideas and values. In return, I send my warmest good wishes to everyone within the Goodenough College community for a memorable event.”

Tomorrow marks the official opening of the new Georgian Houses, an exciting new chapter in Goodenough College's history.

As summer draws to a close, Goodenough Members, led by the Dean, enjoyed a memorable day in Devon with Governing Fellow Fiona Wilkinson.

Fiona welcomed the Dean and Members to a Condiment Colloquium and barbecue at her home near Whimple, followed by an introduction to cider-making in a friend's orchard. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good company, local traditions and the beautiful countryside.

With many Members departing in mid-September and a new cohort soon to arrive, we're preparing to begin another exciting chapter in the life of the College.

What is it like to live in Goodenough College's award-winning student accommodation as a postgraduate student?

Here's a glimpse into a day in the life of one of our Members, from morning coffee at our café and a short walk to university, to a tennis match in the garden, a study session in the library, opera in the quad, dinner in the Great Hall, and so much more.

We're delighted to offer a unique mix of central London accommodation, academic focus, cultural experiences and a vibrant community that makes Goodenough College feel like home.

Today marks a significant milestone in an exciting new chapter for Goodenough College as we celebrate the completion of the main phase of the Georgian Houses refurbishment.

Earlier this afternoon, the Managing Director of Buxton Building Contractors ceremonially handed over the keys to the College Director, symbolising the successful conclusion of Buxton's work on this ambitious renovation project delivered to an excellent standard.

With the keys now officially handed over, final preparations are underway ahead of welcoming new Members this September.

A huge thank you to Buxton Building Contractors and everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We are also incredibly grateful to our Alumni, Donors and friends worldwide, whose generosity and support have helped make this vision a reality.

We can't wait to see these historic buildings filled with the energy, ideas and friendships of future generations of Goodenough Members.

An exciting new chapter is opening at Goodenough College. 🏡
The refurbishment of the Georgian Houses is nearing completion, with the finishing touches being added ahead of welcoming new Members this September.
These beautifully restored buildings will allow us to welcome even more talented postgraduate students from around the world, strengthening the diverse and vibrant community that makes Goodenough so special.

We are deeply grateful to our Alumni, Donors and friends worldwide whose generosity and support have helped make this ambitious project a reality.

From Rome to Prague to Guernsey, Goodenough Members travelled across Europe this summer, exploring big ideas and engaging with leading experts through the Dean's Colloquiums.

📍 In Rome, Members visited the FAO headquarters to discuss the geopolitics of food with senior policymakers, including Goodenough alumni Meran Lukic and Ashlyn Anderson.

📍 In Prague, they joined Lord Richards and Elspeth Talbot-Rice KC for the Robinson Colloquium in Trusts and were welcomed by British Ambassador Matt Field.

📍 In Guernsey, Members explored Island Arts and were welcomed to Government House by Lieutenant-General Sir Richard Cripwell, Governor of Guernsey.

These unique experiences demonstrate the power of bringing together talented postgraduate students, thought leaders and practitioners to engage with ideas that shape our world.

A warm Goodenough College welcome to the newest members of the Guild of Young Freemen and this year's Lady Mayor's Scholars. 🌍🎓
It was a pleasure to host this talented group of emerging leaders from around the world as they begin their scholarship year in the UK. We look forward to seeing them thrive, connect and make lasting memories within our community.
