Yesterday, Goodenough Members enjoyed an engaging Port Talk with the Ambassador of Panama, His Excellency Guido Martinelli, who shared fascinating insights into the country’s strategic role in global trade and the history and significance of the Panama Canal.
The talk highlighted Panama’s position as a key logistics hub, its commitment to sustainability as a carbon-negative country, and its appeal for investment and tourism.
Members also had the chance to experience a taste of Panamanian culture through beautifully handcrafted molas and traditional sweets. The event was yet another example of the intellectually enriching and horizon-expanding opportunities offered at Goodenough College.

By taking the time to pause, reflect, and connect with others, our members marked Mental Health Awareness Week at Goodenough College 💚✨
Throughout the week, Members came together to explore different perspectives on mental health, wellbeing, and personal growth. Through a series of Port Talks, speakers shared insights on everything from navigating support services to thinking about purpose, fulfilment, and what it means to live well.
We also heard from Members about the importance of making space for wellbeing amid the demands of postgraduate life, and the role that community can play in helping us thrive.
🙌 Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, experiences, and expertise to make the week such a meaningful one.
📖 Mental Health Awareness Week at Goodenough encourages open conversations, mutual support, and a stronger understanding of wellbeing within our diverse community.

We’re delighted to share that, based on outstanding feedback from our Members, Goodenough College has been named a finalist in the 2026 Global Student Living (GSL) Awards in the Best Specialist Housing category.
Goodenough College’s Registrar commented:
“We are incredibly proud that Goodenough College Members have rated their experience so highly. This recognition belongs to our whole community — Members, staff, Alumni and supporters alike. At a time when postgraduate students face increasing pressures, Goodenough College remains deeply committed to providing a home that offers friendship, support, opportunity and a sense of belonging. We are thrilled that this has been recognised through the Global Student Living Awards.”
The GSL Awards [https://gslglobal.com/awards/] are based exclusively on direct feedback from hundreds of thousands of students around the world every year. With no written nominations and no 'expert' judges, the GSL Awards are uniquely credible and highly prized.
