Each student is different which means that I tailor each of my lessons to suit each student. I have many different teaching techniques to ensure that what may seem like a complex topic can be explained and understood in a simple and effective manner. I create personalised homework sheets and booklets focussing on their weaknesses and honing their strengths. I create worksheets and revision material during and after every lesson so that the students have something to reflect on and something to revise from. I also answer queries via email or Whatsapp so that the students can get in touch with me before the next lesson if they are particularly stuck on a topic and need some quick guidance. I am not there to give the answers to the questions, but to provide the framework and give confidence so that the student can confidently attempt it on their own. So even when away from me, the student’s ability and confidence grows! In addition, this service provides me with feedback which I take to my future lessons so that the time spent with me is always efficient and targeted to the student’s needs. Too often students try to memorise them which requires intense hours of repetition with little understanding. I like to bring these concepts into an understandable reality so that the student does not have to memorise. They now understand it. Once they understand it, they do not need long hours of intense repetition as it is now engrained in their way of thinking. I believe that you cannot forget something you understand but it is very easy to forget something that you have simply just memorised. I like to think that instead of just teaching Mathematics, I inspire students so that eventually they begin to love Maths and no longer need our support.
