We were delighted to welcome so many guests to our Open Evening last night.

Our student tour guides were so enthusiastic to show everyone around to their favourite subjects and share what makes Park High so special.

As our Headteacher, Mr Darby said: "The achievements of our students demonstrate what can happen when young people are given opportunities to discover their strengths."

We're delighted to welcome back all our students, staff and the whole Park High community!

We hope everyone had a fantastic summer and have come back feeling rested, refreshed and ready for the new school year.

A new year brings new opportunities and new challenges. There will be so many chances to learn, grow and get involved. So, whether you're joining us for the first time or moving into a new year group, we look forward to seeing what you can achieve.

There is a lot to look forward to at Park High this year. We want to see everyone trying their hardest to be the very best they can be.

Before you enjoy your final evening of the summer holidays, please take a few minutes to get everything ready for tomorrow. A little preparation tonight can make your first morning back much easier.

A new school year isn’t just about what happens in the classroom, it’s also about trying new things, discovering what you enjoy and getting involved in school life.

At Park High, we have clubs for every interest and hobby, from drama and film to chess and science. We also have a proud culture of sporting success – winning trophies in athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, netball, table tennis and volleyball.

So which extra-curricular activities will you try this year?

Whatever you’re interested in, we have something for you. And if there’s something you want to try that we don’t have on offer, we encourage you to talk to a teacher and see if you can start a new club.

You don’t have to be an expert to join in. Extra-curricular clubs are a chance to learn a new skill, discover new interests, make new friends and have fun.

We’re just two days away from the start of term on Wednesday 2nd September – what are you going to get involved in this year?

A new school year is the chance for a fresh start. As well as thinking about everything you want to achieve this year, spend time thinking about the person you want to be.

What type of learner will you be? Are you going to be a good friend? How do you want to feel about yourself?

A new school year begins in just three days – on Wednesday 2nd September – when you walk through the school gates, make sure you’re starting as you mean to go on.

Be someone who gets involved.
Be someone others know they can rely on.
Be someone who seizes new opportunities.
Be someone who doesn’t give up.
Be someone who shows integrity in everything they do.

You don’t have to completely reinvent yourself, but choose just a couple of areas you want to grow and improve this year, and take positive steps towards them on the first day.

It’s now just 4 days until we welcome back all students on Wednesday 2nd September!
This year, we’re challenging you to ask yourself: How can I do my very best? At Park High, we follow the 4 Ps of Learning:

📚️ Prepare for Learning – Arrive on time, bring the right equipment and be ready to learn.
✒️ Pride in Presentation – There is power in good presentation. Keep your work neat and tidy so you can go back over all your notes.
🙋‍♀️ Proactive in Lessons – Learning should never be passive. Engage in discussions, use key vocabulary to answer questions, and push yourself to rise to challenges.
🧠 Persist after Lessons – Learning is not limited to the classroom. Use home learning to expand your understanding, note down any questions you have, make flashcards and review key points.

Remember, doing your best doesn’t mean being perfect. It means being ready to learn, taking pride in what you do and putting in the effort.

So, as we get ready to start a new school year, how will you put the 4 Ps into practice?
