March at Wolverton: What Do We Find in the Sky and Space? 🌙🚀🔬💫

From exploring the wonders of the sky and space to sparking curiosity through hands-on science experiments for British Science Week, it has been a month full of awe, discovery and imagination.

The children have loved learning about day and night, the weather, and the world beyond our own - all while building their Confidence, Creativity and Curiosity every step of the way.

This week at Forest School, both our Pine and Chestnut classes enjoyed a wonderful 2-hour adventure in nature 🌿

The children explored their creativity by painting with natural resources from the forest, using mud, sticks, and found treasures to create unique artwork. There was lots of imaginative play in the mud kitchen, as well as plenty of excitement crawling and climbing through tunnels.

A fantastic session full of exploration, creativity, and outdoor fun.

A reflection of January’s theme - ‘What jobs do people do?’

Across the nursery, the children enjoyed a range of engaging activities linked to different careers, with lots of role play, hands-on learning and creative experiences taking place across all classes.

The learning didn’t stop with the activities. We shared many meaningful conversations about different roles within our community, encouraging children to share their own ideas and experiences.

Each class also read their Book of the Month repeatedly, helping to strengthen understanding and spark curiosity around the theme.

A huge thank you to the London Fire Brigade and nurses from Chase Farm Hospital for visiting the nursery and bringing the learning to life for our little ones - a truly memorable experience.

Now it’s time to turn our attention to February’s theme, ‘What shapes my world?’, where we’ll be exploring shapes, patterns, numbers and the world around us!

Today we were so privileged to welcome the London Fire Brigade to support our January theme, ‘What jobs do people do?’.

The children had the most amazing experience, exploring real equipment, having a go themselves, spraying the hose, and even sitting in the back of the fire engine!

We are so grateful to the firefighters for taking time out of their busy day to visit us and create such special, meaningful memories for our children. Experiences like these truly bring learning to life and help deepen children’s understanding of the world around them.

Smiles all round and lots of very happy (and excited!) children - a day we will remember for a long time ❤️🚒🚨
