Adventure, laughter and memories to last a lifetime! 🌟 Here’s a look back at Year 6’s incredible residential at Condover Hall. 🏕️
Day 1:
Our adventure began with high energy as pupils took on the Multi Vine climbing challenge, showing real determination and teamwork. The evening brought plenty of laughs with a lively Busted! quiz, ending in a memorable ‘Moo-Off’ competition – with Eshan and Sonia delivering a truly epic performance! After such a full day, everyone was settled and asleep by 10:30pm (and impressively stayed asleep all night!). 🎤
Day 2:
We kicked off the morning with a fencing tournament, featuring an intense showdown between Ms Rancaite and Abdul, with Abdul emerging victorious. The excitement continued with a competitive Aeroball tournament before a well-earned lunch. From rock climbing sessions to campfire fun and toasted marshmallows, the day was packed with energy, laughter and teamwork. 🤺🧗♀️🔥
Day 3:
Wednesday morning got off to an active start with trapeze jumping and zipwire, keeping adrenaline levels high – and spirits even higher! The adventures showed no sign of slowing down! Pupils sharpened their archery skills before heading to the lake to build their own rafts using barrels and wood – successfully rowing them across the water. The evening’s mini-Olympics became wonderfully competitive, bringing out the best in everyone. 🏹🎯🚣♂️
Day 4:
The following morning introduced axe throwing, where some hidden talents quickly emerged! After conquering abseiling, pupils recharged at lunch before tackling orienteering challenges and testing their agility in the laser maze. The final afternoon included more orienteering before moving indoors for Maze of Stones and the laser maze challenge, where Emma set an incredible time of 8.66 seconds! 🪓
Day 5:
On our last morning, pupils explored the tunnels of Condover using headtorches and echo sounds to guide their way – a true highlight of the trip. We finished with team games before packing up and preparing for the journey home.🪖🔦

🎉🌍 Celebrating a true legend! 🌍🎉
On Friday 8th May, the world marked Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, an incredible milestone celebrated by people everywhere, including our very own Year 1. 🥳
As a class, we’ve always had a soft spot for David Attenborough, loving his books and, of course, his spectacular TV programmes. On Friday, we watched amazing clips from The Blue Planet, learned more about his life, and reflected on everything he has done to teach us about and help look after our world.🌍
The children wrote heartfelt ‘Happy Birthday’ letters, thanking him for his inspiration. Today, we popped them into an envelope and walked to the postbox to send them to David Attenborough, care of the BBC 📮✨
Fingers crossed… we might just get a reply 👀🤞
Watch this space! 💜💛

Smoothies, science & a whole lot of smiles! 🚴♂️🥤
This week we were thrilled to welcome Lottie Morey, Senior Nutrition Educationist from Thomas Franks, for an inspiring whole‑school focus on healthy food choices 🌈🥦
Lottie kicked things off with a brilliant assembly exploring how nutritious food helps our bodies grow, learn and stay active 💪🧠 Then it was time for the fun part…
From EYFS to Year 6, every child jumped on the smoothie bike, pedalling to blend their very own smoothies, learning about healthy ingredients and tasting the delicious results 😋👏
A huge hit from start to finish and a fantastic way to bring healthy eating to life in a fun, memorable way 💚
Thank you! 🥳

Bonjour! 🇫🇷
Last week our Year 2, 3 and 4 pupils were immersed in a fantastic French Theatre Show! 🎭
With lively performances, music and lots of audience participation, French vocabulary and storytelling truly came to life. The children laughed, joined in with confidence and discovered just how fun learning a language can be beyond the classroom. A memorable cultural treat for all! 🎊
Thank you 🥳

🎶🥁 This week in music, Year 3 became Rhythm Composers! Using dice, the children created their own rhythm patterns, exploring how different beats work together. They practised and then confidently performed their original compositions to the class, showing fantastic teamwork, creativity and listening skills. ⭐👏

The best of both worlds!
At Hendon Prep, we are proud to be a traditional prep school with an outstanding record of preparing pupils for the 11+ and entry to highly sought‑after senior schools. Academic excellence, outstanding teaching and individual support remain at the heart of everything we do, and our Year 6 pupils consistently excel in the 11+, securing offers from a wide range of leading independent schools.
Alongside this strong 11+ provision, we recognise that families value choice. For those who decide that the 11+ route is not the right pathway for their child, we also offer a senior transfer option to Mount House School, part of the Blenheim Schools Group.
The Blenheim Schools Senior Pathway
The Blenheim Schools Senior Pathway provides a smooth and natural transition from Hendon Prep to Mount House School, built on shared values, high expectations and a nurturing ethos and academic excellence. This ensures continuity for pupils who thrive best in a through‑school environment, while keeping the process clear, supportive and stress‑free for families.
Importantly, this pathway enhances what we offer at Hendon Prep rather than defining it. Families truly benefit from the best of both worlds:
• a rigorous, traditional prep school education with focused 11+ preparation for top schools, and
• a high‑quality continuation pathway offering reassurance, flexibility and choice at age 11.
Throughout both pathways, we place the wellbeing of each individual child at the centre of our approach, carefully guiding pupils and families to identify the senior school environment in which they will flourish most and achieve their full potential.

🎨 Reception Art Spotlight 🔦
This term, our Reception pupils will be exploring Mandalas from around the world. They’ve created their own colourful designs using shapes while learning all about pattern, repetition and symmetry. Over the coming weeks, the children will continue this creative journey as they design and make a clay tile inspired by the Mandalas they’ve studied. We can’t wait to see their ideas come to life 🤩
Well done Reception 💜💛
