Drop offs are just around the corner! And we all know, that these can be just as hard on the parents, as for the child. And everyday can look very different.
The institute of child psych, made a little read on how to make it an easier process, which we love! Check out their page for more interesting information 😃

What is Scandinavian learning?🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮
At London Scandinavian School learning begins with the academic framework laid out in the British National Curriculum. What makes our school special is that we apply the Scandinavian values and pedagogical principles that drive our core pillars of presence, belonging, play, trust, and responsibility.
From these pillars, our teachers have developed unique learning models that support individualised lessons that furthers both a child’s personal and academic development📚

Remembrance Day took place on the 11th of November. As this was Saturday the kids have been working on a project regarding this day of memorial, which is celebrated nation-wide and calls for 2 minutes of silence at the 11th minute, at the 11th hour on the 11th day of November.
People remember those who were lost by holding a two-minute silence and by wearing a red poppy. This is symbolic of the end of the war, which fell exactly at 11 o’clock in the morning of Sunday 11th November after both sides agreed to stop fighting.
As a school (Reception to Year 4 students), we had a morning assembly to reflect, remember and communicate peace. This is connected to the Fundamental British Values taught in schools across the UK.
With the children it was discussed what the war was like, both for people at home and over seas, as well as what it looked like. Ultimately, we aimed to Harbour a discussion of how peace and resolve can be achieved in the face of extreme conflict.
Please contact us if you have any questions or if you want to sign up for our next open house day in March!
Best Regards

Our aim, at London Scandinavian School, is to scaffold learning based on the individual needs of each child, and this requires a trusting relationship between student and teacher. We believe in creating positive relationships between teachers and students based on openness, equality and respect.
In Reception, learning through play continues to be a foundation for our teaching methods. Play is sometimes free and unstructured but can also be adult-led and more intentional in its goals. We intentionally teach children phonics and numeracy through varied activities.
