It was great to start our Chinese New Year celebrations early today, when Master Angela made a guest appearance by Zoom on BBC1 News.
This year of horse, fire qi is everywhere. One aspect of this is that it's much easier to see everything when there's so much light.
There is a great folk saying that Grandmaster Lu shared, "Heaven knows, earth knows and you know".
This means that whatever we do, even if no-one else appears to be around, is still known. It gets recorded in the light of your heart. The light in your heart is known by the light in the heart of your home, Zao Jun. And the heart of your home signals it to the heart of the heavens, Di Shi. So even when no-one else is around, the light knows.
This year, our sincerest advice is to do more acts of kindness and be very frightened to do anything that goes against good heartedness and ethical uprightness. This is to create plentiful good energy around us so that the changes that come for us are more beneficial. Why fight the light when you can be it?

A flashback from 1998. Long before Marie Kondo had ever put pen to paper, there was a woman who emptied the shelves to put space clearing on the map with her hugely popular book that made it a thing. We took Karen Kingston's training intensive back then and also experienced some initiatives she was involved in like Gentle Wind Project.

The sources of negative energy in our environment are often subtle. Can you spot the source of the axe blade sha qi (killing energy) in this old photo from 20 years ago?
Whilst such features are often retained as marks of heritage, one can only wonder why the original owner decided to install it directly above the front door? Why not to the side? That's karma!
Our teacher, His Holiness Living Buddha Lian Sheng performs a Sheng ji ceremony following the methods taught to him by Taoist lineage holder, Master Qing Zhen. Sheng ji is sometimes translated as a living burial. Normally, we have to wait till we die to be buried and then, our graveyard Feng Shui benefits our descendants. With this method, a special "life essence" is buried in an auspicious place so that the good qi (sheng qi) flows to us. This can be life changing, warding off illnesses, helping one find a husband or wife, gifting children and increasing one's prosperity. We will be joining His Holiness later this year for more Sheng ji.

With China becoming a dominant global power and businesses like TikTok, Temu and Alibaba becoming household names worldwide, business leaders everywhere are noticing Chinese traditions like Feng Shui and Bazi are part of their success. For Lunar New Year, BBC1 News invited me on their Business Today program to discuss this and what they think the year of the snake will bring.
