About Master Paul Treacy:
Paul is the founder of our academy and one of the most highly skilled and experienced teachers around today. Paul commenced his training in 1972, over the years he was fortunate to train and work with some of the top people in the world of Martial Arts.These notable teachers included Karate Masters Kanazawa, Asano
and Hassan Dillaimi in the Shotokan Karate System, Masters Richard Morris and Brian Dossett of Jiu Jitsu and Spirit Combat systems, Master Peter Hui of the Wing Chun System, Master Jeremy Yau and Master Stan Brown of the Lau Gar System to name but a few. Paul was honoured with the title of Sifu in 1987 by his Wing Chun Master, Sifu Peter Hiu and Spirit Combat founder Grand Master Brian Dossett 10th degree. In 1994 he was invited to join the WORLD KOBUDO FEDERATION by its co-founder Grand Master Richard Morris 10th degree . At that time Paul was the youngest Master in the federation. He was also one of the most highly ranked Masters in Jiu Jitsu International which was one of the largest associations in the world at that time. Paul has taught Martial Arts in different countries around the world including America, Cyprus, Portugal, Greece and Sweden. He has also worked in security for many years, including close protection work to various celebrities. Due to his connection to the acting world he has also been asked to work with producers and directors on various Indi movie and stage projects ,choreographing fight/action scenes. Between 1985-86, Paul opened his first school in North London. The classes became busy very quickly, however; he was not totally content with what he was teaching. After just a year, he closed the school down to evaluate his knowledge, and what he wanted to teach to the students. Paul set about creating a street combat system that would be pertinent in a modern society, a living breathing system that would change and be updated according to the world we live in, a mixed martial art in its purest sense. As Master Treacy always reminds us ..”a stagnant art like stagnant water leads to decay”. In 1987 he reopened the school and his style was born;
LOONG KEUN DO ( Dragon fist way)or as we like to call it today LKD, a pure self defence combat system. Since then he has been featured in various Martial Arts magazines over the years and has also appeared on television teaching LKD. To date, Master Treacy hold the ranks of Red Sash 9th Degree Master and founder of the LKD Combat System, Red and White belt 9th Degree Master of Jiu Jitsu and Red Sash Master rank in Wing Chun, as well as other Master ranks and titles in other systems all internationally recognised and approved.
