“The absolute importance of asking questions and dealing with things not going to plan.” Orestes - Mobile Engineering Analyst.

Along with talking about particular jobs, sectors or pathways, it’s often volunteers’ real-life insights that resonate most in the classroom.

Personal stories are memorable and have a real impact. Whether it’s being inspired by someone ‘like me’ or finding a fresh perspective from someone students wouldn’t usually meet, it’s this human connection that makes all the difference.

Our volunteers span a huge range of jobs, levels, and backgrounds. Below are just a few quotes from recent recruits’ profiles to show the added value of volunteer encounters.

If you'd like to volunteer to talk about your career story and experience with children and young people - or know someone who may like to take part - then please sign-up or share: https://bit.ly/3DprU0F

With coming up, why not invite a role model who uses maths in their job to join your class virtually?

Show children just how many jobs use the subject - such as a Nurse who might use maths to calculate medication doses.
