Our pupils won a first place prize at the competition, held at Central School of Ballet, for their lyrical duet titled ‘The Midnight Explorers’. 👏🏼😊

With the stage set for our pupils, ‘show week’ is well under way! We are extremely excited to take our pupils through this inspiring experience, bringing together all of the wonderful work they do in class.

Our show gives them an insight into working in a professional theatre with lights, sound, video and costumes and sees them embrace teamwork and support their friends to put on a spectacular performance for our VIP audience - the parents, families, nannies and friends who bring us to our dance classes and make all of this possible. We very much look forward to seeing you there!

What a joyful Sunday spent at the Cecchetti Choreography Competition 2026, held in The Gable Theatre at the renowned Central School of Ballet, London.

Our pupils performed their own choreography pieces to a supportive audience of families, teachers and esteemed adjudicators, and Fru Chilvers. The day saw our Vacani dancers achieving a Commendation in the Junior Solo section and a 1st Place win in the Junior Duets category. 🌟🥇

The dancers, who take ballet, tap and jazz lessons with us, were praised by the adjudicators for their musicality, storytelling and the range of dance and choreographic vocabulary included in their pieces.

Miss Claudia, Miss Ann and our Vacani teaching team are extremely proud of them for the time, thought, practice and sincerity they put into their creative processes and performances on the day. The teamwork, smiles and kind support of one another only make their successes even more heartwarming to see.

Thank you to for hosting the competition and to the adjudicators for their expert feedback and for helping create an inspiring and positive event for our young dancers.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be rounding off this year with a whole-school, Summer Show.

We were overwhelmed with your feedback and gratitude for the last show and very much plan to create another magical experience for our dancers. Here are just some of the treasured words we received from parents after our Vacani ‘24 show;

‘An outstanding show! It’s so professional and truly beyond parents’ expectations. Every child was given a role to shine on the stage. The costume and stage setup really let kids feel they are part of a West End production! Many thanks for a wonderful experience for our kids.’

Preparation is already underway with our teachers setting themes, selecting and arranging music, creating choreography and designing costumes. We are also working with our technical team on video projections and lighting design which gives our pupils the full experience of performing in a professional theatre production from initial rehearsals to stepping out on stage in front of a supportive audience. 🎭🌟🎶✨

We are immensely proud of these 4 pupils who have just passed their ISTD Cecchetti Grade exam with flying colours.

They have shown commitment, perseverance and a heartwarming sense of camaraderie in the lead up to the exam - and their many years dancing with us - and were a credit to themselves on the day.

Our Standard 2 pupils stretching whilst they listen to their improvisation music for today’s class, played by our pianist.

Improvisation to music allows children to express their emotions and explore their imaginations through movement whilst deceloping their confidence and sense of performance, in a supportive environment.

The athhleticism of ballet makes it impressive and physically challenging yet it is the artistry which brings stories to life and magic to audiences. The beauty of our syllabi is that both elements are combined, giving pupils the tools to become well-rounded performers in whichever path they choose.

In our ballet exams with the ISTD, children are assessed not only on their technique but on improvisation, performance and sense of enjoyment too. This holds great value for our pupils - it’s often the part they enjoy the most! - and allows every child to shine 🌟✨

What a positive start we’ve had to the year!

🩵 It’s been a joy to welcome our pupils back to their classes with enthusiasm and energy for the new year! Excitement is already building for our show and we’ve started working towards new class goals.

🌟 This term sees Miss Ann leading our Thursday classes at Broomwood. Our Vacani Junior Associates, Creative dancers and Seniors are extremely lucky to have such an inspirational teacher and dancer passing her expertise on to them.

💖 We are also starting 2026 with the addition of Miss Emily and Miss Iona to our team, as assistant teachers. Our dance assistants are an extremely valued part of our school and we are excited for them to become a part of our Vacani dance community.

🩰 We have already run our first set of exams of the year with the ISTD. Congratulations to our Vacani Associates who have taken their very first Cecchetti Grade exam. We are very proud of how you supported one another as a team and worked so hard towards your exam.

If the first 2 weeks of term set the mood for the year ahead, 2026 is going to be a magical one ✨✨
