Recent School Trips 🛄
Our students have recently embarked on some exciting and insightful trips that have enriched their learning and broadened their horizons. These experiences not only allowed them to explore new places but also to connect classroom lessons with real-world applications. We’re excited to share their experiences!
🎨 Year 8 visited the Pitzhanger Gallery to see Grayson Perry’s exhibition, The Vanity of Small Differences. Inspired by William Hogarth’s A Rake’s Progress, the work explores society, class, and identity. In Art lessons, students have been crafting papier-mâché vases with illustrations reflecting their identity.
🎭️ As part of their GCSE Drama course, our Year 11 students had the exciting opportunity to attend Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre. This trip was more than just an evening of entertainment—it was an invaluable learning experience.
🎞️ Our A-Level Film Studies students recently attended the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York. This annual trip, is a key part of their course, inspiring their short film projects. Students enjoyed curated short films, masterclasses with industry experts, and VR experiences, while also bonding with peers and exploring York.
❄️ In preparation for the Year 13 BTEC Winter Festival, our students had the incredible opportunity to attend TheatreCraft, where they explored the vital non-performance roles that bring theatre to life. Engaging with industry professionals, the students gained invaluable insights into behind-the-scenes responsibilities, equipping them with the skills and inspiration to take on the exciting challenge of producing their own show.
