The IRM Education Foundation has awarded a grant to Malaysian child rights organisation S**A Society to support its Empowered2Teach programme, strengthening access to quality early years education for Orang Asli children in Kampung Sungai Bot Dalam, Perak.

The programme trains and supports members of indigenous communities to become early years educators, helping address barriers to preschool provision while building local capability and creating a sustainable model of education.

The Foundation’s grant will support continued professional training, mentoring and classroom resources for locally trained Orang Asli teachers, helping children develop the literacy, numeracy and social skills that provide an important foundation for primary education and lifelong learning.

This initiative reflects the IRM Education Foundation’s commitment to supporting education, professional development and community-led projects that deliver meaningful and lasting impact.

30/07/2026

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the enterprise risk landscape. As organisations accelerate AI adoption, risk professionals need practical governance approaches that integrate AI into existing enterprise risk management frameworks rather than treating it as a standalone issue.

We are pleased to share this feedback from Callum Morrison, Risk Manager, following our AI Risk Governance & Enterprise Risk Management course:

"The 2 days also really highlighted how AI is fundamentally changing enterprise risk, and how organisations need to adapt and introduce scalable AI governance. A great course for anyone in Risk & Compliance positions looking to understand more about AI, and practical ways of being able to govern and embed within Risk Management Frameworks."

Delivered by Markus Krebsz, creator of the Enterprise-wide AI Risk Management (EW-AiRM©) framework and United Nations / UNECE WP.6 AI Project Leader, this two-day programme provides a structured, implementation-focused approach to embedding AI risk governance within enterprise risk management. Participants leave with practical tools, an implementation roadmap, and the capability to align AI governance with emerging regulatory expectations and organisational strategy.

How prepared is your organisation to identify emerging risks before they become critical?

Emerging risks rarely present themselves as immediate threats. They often begin as weak signals, evolving trends and early indicators that can be overlooked without a structured approach to horizon scanning.

Our new Strategic Horizon Scanning: Identifying Emerging Risks and Opportunities course equips risk professionals with the practical knowledge and tools to identify, assess and communicate medium- to long-term risks and opportunities before they become urgent.

Delivered through practical case studies, scenario-based exercises and guided discussion, the course explores how to:
- Identify weak signals, trends and drivers of change
- Distinguish meaningful insights from background noise
- Prioritise emerging risks based on impact, likelihood and organisational relevance
- Facilitate effective horizon scanning workshops
- Produce clear, actionable reporting for leadership
- Integrate horizon scanning into existing risk management, governance and strategic planning processes

Participants will leave with practical techniques that can be applied immediately to strengthen organisational resilience, support strategic decision-making and embed a more forward-looking approach to risk management.
