祝大家新年快樂,身體健康,馬年馬上發財馬上好運
Tonight is Chinese New Year's Eve and we're celebrating at home with family, great food and of course Red Envelopes!
Happy New Year of the Horse everyone!
Many Lunar New Year traditions revolve around bringing good fortune and prosperity!
發糕 - fāgāo - Fortune Cake
年糕 - nián gāo - Year Cake
紅包 - hóngbāo - Red Envelope
And of course, 魚 - yú - fish
Yú sounds similar to the word for abundance/excess (餘, yú), so fish is a major symbol of wealth in Chinese culture. It's important not to finish all the fish tonight and roll the good luck into the coming year.

Those of you with a keen eye on the news will have spotted this story today!
Forget the Slytherin snake—Draco Malfoy has been officially rebranded as a lucky horse for the 2026 Lunar New Year! 🐎✨
In a twist that would probably leave Lucius Malfoy speechless, Draco’s name in Mandarin (馬尔福, Mǎěrfú) has become the ultimate holiday pun.
Because the first character means horse (馬) and the last means fortune (福), Chinese netizens have turned the Hogwarts "bad boy" into a mascot for the Year of the Horse!
