Imperial College First Aid Society and St John Ambulance - Imperial LINKS

Imperial College First Aid Society works with St John Ambulance (SJA) to provide first aid training and event cover for Imperial College London. As Imperial LINKS - the student-run SJA unit - we train our members in first aid free of charge via nationally recognised courses and send volunteers to events across London, including the Wimbledon Championships, Premier League football matches, The Boat

Race, London Marathon, the New Year's Celebrations and many more. As an SJA First Aider, members can gain first hand experience in first aid skills, develop leadership, teamwork and clinical decision making skills as well as collaborating with Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics from across the UK. Experienced members can also crew ambulances, manage first aid cover for large events and run first aid courses. If you're interested in first aid or primary care, if you want some experience in clinical practice, teaching or leadership and management, or if you just want to do something worthwhile and learn some life-saving skills, please contact us for more information. Our society and LINKS unit are for students and staff members of Imperial College London. This week we’ll be covering major trauma. So be prepared for a great interactive session where you get to practice bleeds, bandages and tourniquets . It’s definitely not a session to miss! 💚💛

We’re back this week to kick off the term with a session on Heart Attack, Angina, Diabetes and Sepsis. We can’t wait to see everyone after all the exams! 💛💚

We had such a busy and brilliant end to last term with our Christmas scenarios night, where everyone got to practise their skills (and have a lot of fun doing it), followed by a well-deserved Nando’s dinner.

Some of our volunteers have also been busy over the holidays supporting events like New Year’s and Chelsea Football Stadium

We had another great session last week going over the Secondary Survey 🩺 Everyone did a fantastic job practising their patient assessment and observation skills !
Our next session will be this Tuesday in SKEM 164. We’ll be sharing info on how to join St John Ambulance and running a quick Primary & Secondary Survey review to keep those skills fresh. See you there! 💚💛
