We’re incredibly proud of the opportunities our students are taking up with some of the UK’s leading universities.

🔬 Jude in Year 10 has secured a place on Imperial College London’s highly competitive STEM Potential Programme, giving him access to expert mentoring, workshops and an insight into life at university. With ambitions to become a chemical engineer, it’s a fantastic step towards his future.

👩‍🔬 Our Year 9 girls are also preparing to take part in Imperial’s Girls Engineering Summer School, where they’ll explore robotics, AI and more, alongside experiencing university-level STEM.

🎓 Meanwhile, six Year 10 students have enrolled on a programme at Westminster School, exploring philosophy, advanced sciences and politics, with the opportunity to apply for scholarships after completing the programme.

These experiences are about more than academic achievement. They’re about giving our students the confidence to aim high, discover what’s possible and see themselves succeeding at the very best universities.

We’re excited to see where their ambition takes them next. 🌟

There’s plenty to celebrate in our latest newsletter, from new opportunities for students to develop their talents to recognition for the impact our school community is making.

🎹 Music is thriving: Thanks to a £20,000 grant from Restore the Music, students now have access to a new Yamaha piano, cellos and an electric drum kit. The new instruments are already creating a real buzz, with students making the most of them at lunchtime and beyond.

🏆 National recognition: We’re incredibly proud to have received a Silver Pearson National Teaching Award in the Making a Difference Secondary School of the Year category. The award recognises the exceptional impact of our staff and the difference they make to students every day.

🗣️ Building confidence: Our new debating club is giving students the opportunity to challenge ideas, consider different perspectives and develop their confidence in expressing their views.

It’s fantastic to see our students given the opportunities, encouragement and experiences that help them grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Our Duke of Edinburgh students are preparing for their Bronze and Silver expeditions, developing resilience, teamwork and independence through experiences that build skills for life.

We're also incredibly proud to have received the TES Teacher Development Initiative of the Year Award, recognising our commitment to supporting and developing our staff so they can provide the very best education for every student.

Finally, congratulations to the seven students who put themselves forward in this year's Head Student elections. It was inspiring to see so many young people confidently sharing their ideas and demonstrating a genuine passion for making a positive difference to our school community.

Well done to everyone involved – your enthusiasm, commitment and ambition continue to make us proud.

⚽ Our U13 and U15 girls’ football teams have made us incredibly proud, representing Forest Gate Community School with determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship in recent borough tournaments.
