Essential Wound Management for Veterinary Nurses is designed to strengthen clinical knowledge and support confident, evidence-based decision making in practice ❤️
This course empowers RVNs to take a proactive role in wound care planning, case management, and the adaptation of treatment strategies as cases evolve.
Wounds are a constant in veterinary practice, from surgical sites to complex traumatic injuries, and each case requires a tailored, collaborative approach between the RVN and veterinary surgeon 😄
By revisiting the core principles of wound healing and modern management techniques, nurses can better assess cases, support treatment decisions, and help drive improved patient outcomes.
Understanding how the body heals across different scenarios enables more effective planning, faster progress, and stronger wound-care delivery in practice.

Alfaxalone is a commonly used induction agent in veterinary anaesthesia, valued for its smooth onset and reliable, predictable effects 👍
In practice, it offers flexibility across a range of species and clinical situations, from IV induction in routine cases to use in more challenging or compromised patients where a gentle approach is needed.
Its relatively stable cardiovascular profile (when used appropriately and titrated correctly) makes it a useful option in many anaesthetic protocols 😄
However, like all anaesthetic agents, it requires careful handling, accurate dosing, and close patient monitoring to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
Recovery quality, patient factors, and procedure type should always be considered when selecting the most appropriate protocol 🐶
For veterinary nurses, understanding how and when alfaxalone is used helps strengthen confidence in anaesthetic support, patient monitoring, and recognising expected versus abnormal responses during induction and recovery.

Do you want to up-skill, expand your role, and build confidence in both diagnostic imaging and ultrasonography as a Veterinary Nurse? 😄
This 14-hour CPD bundle combines two in-depth, nurse-focused courses designed specifically for Veterinary Nurses working in both first opinion and referral practice.
The first course focuses on building confidence in radiography and diagnostic imaging techniques. You’ll develop a stronger understanding of radiation safety, an increasingly important topic following updates to UK radiation regulations 🦺
This course is designed to help you not only understand the theory but also confidently apply it in practice. With thanks to IMV and Kat Evans for contributing 10 hours of expert CPD content ❤️
The second course focuses on veterinary ultrasonography essentials, helping you become more confident and actively involved in ultrasound procedures.
Led by Camilla from First Opinion Veterinary Ultrasound (FOVU), this course breaks down the basics in a practical, approachable way, covering machine familiarity, probe selection, image interpretation, and patient preparation. It is designed to remove the uncertainty many RVNs feel around ultrasound and replace it with clarity, confidence, and hands-on understanding that can be applied immediately in practice.
Together, these two courses provide a comprehensive 14-hour CPD bundle designed to elevate your clinical confidence, expand your skill set, and support your progression as a modern Veterinary Nurse in diagnostic imaging! 😄
