SUMMER 2026: INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURAL SKETCH MODELLING

Architecture begins with ideas, but it comes to life through making.

Hosted at Make Architects, this workshop introduces students to the process of transforming concepts into three dimensional forms through sketch modelling. Participants will develop practical making skills while exploring how architects test, refine and communicate their designs.

This summer, students will explore the art of realistic painting at , learning how to capture light, colour, texture and form through careful observation.

Using professional watercolours and brushes, participants will develop skills in drawing, colour mixing and realistic rendering under the guidance of experienced TCDT tutor Sarah Hocombe.

SUMMER 2026: TRADITIONAL WAISTCOAT MAKING

For this exciting new TCDT workshop, students will have the opportunity to step into the world of traditional tailoring through an intensive five day workshop at .

Guided by highly experienced costume maker and tutor Roxane Cressy, participants will learn the foundations of waistcoat construction, from cutting fabric and mounting canvas to creating pockets, collars and hand stitched buttonholes. Throughout the week, students will gain insight into the precision, structure and craftsmanship behind historical garment making and traditional menswear tailoring.

A thoughtful and deeply hands on introduction to the art of construction, fit and fine detail within fashion and costume making.

SUMMER 2026: REALISTIC DRAWING

This summer, students are invited to slow down, observe closely and sharpen one of the most fundamental creative skills of all: drawing.

Set within the inspiring surroundings of Garrison Chapel and Chelsea Barracks, this five day workshop will guide participants through a range of techniques for creating realistic highlights, shadows and textures, using architectural details from the venue and surrounding area as their source material.

Led by experienced TCDT tutor Sarah Hocombe, students will develop their technical confidence while learning how careful observation, patience and precision can transform the way we see and represent the world around us.

This summer, we are proud to continue our collaboration with for a truly exceptional workshop in one of London’s most historic craft institutions.
