Raynes Park High School was delighted to welcome high prior attaining Year 5 pupils from Hollymount Primary and Burlington Junior Schools for our “Shaping the Future” programme on 11th June. Through engaging workshops in English, Maths, Science and Computer Science, pupils explored how today’s ideas can shape tomorrow’s world. From writing acrostic poems about ambition to solving real-world problems with data and investigating renewable energy and digital innovation, their enthusiasm and creativity were outstanding. The event showcased the talents of our visiting pupils while highlighting the excellent opportunities, teaching and facilities available at RPHS. Thank you to Hollymount, Burlington, our staff and all the pupils who made the day such a success—we look forward to inspiring the next generation through more aspirational events in the future.

Last week, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants successfully completed their Qualifying Expedition in East Grinstead.

Despite a very wet first day, students maintained excellent morale throughout and demonstrated impressive resilience, teamwork, and determination in challenging conditions. All groups performed exceptionally well, showcasing strong navigation and camping skills across the expedition.

This achievement is a credit to everyone involved, and we congratulate all participants for their commitment, perseverance, and positive attitude throughout the experience.

Our students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to ABBA Voyage, experiencing a groundbreaking fusion of live music and technology.

For many, this was their very first live concert, making the experience even more memorable. The highlight of the day was meeting ABBA legends Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge congratulations to our Year 7 boys’ rugby team, who finished an incredible second place at the London Youth Games!

After being selected to represent Merton at the London Youth Games Tag Rugby Tournament, the boys travelled to West London in high spirits and proved to be outstanding ambassadors for both the school and the borough.

Throughout the day, they played exciting, fast-paced rugby, showcasing the skills they have worked so hard to develop this year. Their attacking play was exceptional, scoring freely, while their determination and resilience in defence never wavered.

A particular highlight was being able to field two teams, reflecting the excellent progress and strength in depth within the squad. Both teams performed admirably, but it was the A Team who particularly excelled, losing only two matches all day – both against the eventual winners, once in the group stage and again in the final.

Year 8 students recently enjoyed an Aspire visit to Roehampton University, where they explored a range of facilities including the Nursing, Law and Business Schools, as well as the impressive library, which proved to be a particular highlight.

Throughout the day, students discovered the wide variety of courses available at university, including some surprising degree options, and took part in practical activities designed to give them an insight into student life. From budgeting for meals to learning about managing living costs and independent living, the experience encouraged students to think about life beyond school.

Students also had the opportunity to meet undergraduate ambassadors during a Q&A session, gaining valuable first-hand insight into university life and the support available to students.

To round off the visit, students designed their own ideal university, bringing together everything they had learned throughout the day.
