Every child develops differently.

No two children learn, grow or experience the world in exactly the same way. Each child has their own strengths, interests and individual way of discovering the world around them.

At Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries, we celebrate every child for who they are. That’s why we’re excited to launch our new campaign with Dr Morvwen Duncan, Lead Clinical Psychologist and Founder of The Lotus Psychology Practice ()

Together, we’re empowering parents with insights into how their child learns, plays, and explores, supporting every step of their development. By recognising the ways children naturally communicate, create, move and connect, we can help families nurture confidence, support development and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

This isn’t about labels or finding a “perfect” way for children to learn and develop. It’s about recognising that every child is unique and helping parents better understand the ways their child learns, plays, and explores.

To support this, we’ve created our Understanding Your Child Quiz. By answering a series of simple, engaging questions, you’ll receive personalised insights into your child’s natural strengths, interests, and approach to learning.

Once you’ve discovered your child’s top interests, you’ll unlock a range of personalised resources to help you support their learning and development. These include tailored activities, practical parenting tips, expert advice, recommended blogs, and an invitation to our live three-part webinar series. with Dr Morvwen Duncan, all designed to help you support your child’s growth at home and beyond.

Because every child deserves to be understood, encouraged and supported to thrive in their own way.
Follow the link in our bio to take the quiz today and discover your child’s top interests.

Our first Little Kickers session was a huge success! ⚽💚
Children across our Nursery rooms had so much fun developing their football skills through exciting, age-appropriate activities. From rolling and kicking balls to balancing, running, dribbling and working together as a team, every child had the opportunity to build confidence while staying active.
These experiences support the EYFSby promoting Physical Development, helping children develop their gross motor skills, coordination, balance and spatial awareness. They also encourage Personal, Social and Emotional Developmentas children learn to take turns, build resilience, follow instructions and celebrate each other’s achievements. Through communication, teamwork and problem-solving, children are also strengthening their Communication and Language skills.
We can’t wait for many more Little Kickers sessions as our children continue to learn, grow and have fun through active play! 🌟
⚽ Active bodies, confident minds and happy learners!

✨ Sensory Fun for Our Littlest Explorers (0–2 Years) ❄️🎨

Today we explored the magic of sensory play with ice and taste-safe paint! 💙💛❤️

This simple activity encourages babies and toddlers to touch, squish, explore temperatures, watch colours mix, and develop their curiosity through safe, hands-on play. Sensory experiences like these help support fine motor skills, early language, cognitive development, and creativity—all while having lots of fun!

As always, our taste-safe materials are carefully prepared, and children are closely supervised throughout the activity.

Sometimes the simplest activities create the biggest smiles. 💕

Supporting children starts with supporting the people who care for them every day. 💚

One thing I really value is recognising the unique skills each member of our team brings. Everyone has something special to offer, and when we encourage staff to share their talents, it benefits the whole nursery community.

Our incredibly creative team member, Tendai, designed this beautiful graduation welcome sign on our large chalkboard, and it has completely transformed the space. 🎓🎨✨

Giving staff the opportunity to use their strengths builds confidence, encourages creativity, and creates an environment where everyone feels valued. When staff feel empowered, that positivity shines through in the experiences we create for our children and families.

Investing in your team isn’t just about training; it’s about recognising the gifts they already have and giving them the chance to flourish.

Sign of the Day: SCHOOL 🏫

As our children get ready to graduate, we’re celebrating all they’ve learned and preparing them for their next adventure.

Makaton helps children communicate, build confidence, and develop language skills by supporting understanding and expression through signs, symbols, and speech. Every sign is another step towards independence and connection. 💛

From snack to plants! 🍉🌱 After enjoying watermelon and melon at snack time, our preschoolers planted the seeds in our growing garden. They carefully raked and dug the soil before placing their mini plants in a special spot to grow. This hands-on experience helped children understand where food comes from, how plants grow, and the importance of caring for the environment. We can’t wait to watch them flourish! 💚🌍

On Friday, all of our Nursery Group sites came together for their Inset Day. It was a day filled with learning, connection and inspiration as we came together to reflect, share ideas and continue growing together.

A huge thank you to Alex Cross | Early Years Specialist | Parenting Support 0-5s | , who spoke about Circle of Security & Attachment, reminding us that:
“When we change the way we see behaviour, we change the way we respond to it.”

We also loved hearing from Alexandra Chiorando from Alexandra Chiorando, shared her expertise on all things Early Years Curriculum, leaving us with the powerful reminder: “You shape brain architecture in the early years.”

Alongside the inspiring talks, there were plenty of yummy treats, lots of networking, and a wonderful opportunity for our nursery settings to mingle, catch up and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.

To round off a brilliant day, we even squeezed in a few games of bingo, with a special appearance from Marvin ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day such a success. Here's a look back at some of our favourite moments.

🐌✨ A tiny visitor led to a big adventure...

When our preschool children discovered a little snail in the garden with Miss Tendai, their curiosity came to life. We carefully brought our tiny guest into the classroom, where little hands gently explored its shell, describing it as “smooth,” “hard,” and “bumpy.”

Together, we wondered where it had come from, talked about what snails like to eat, and offered it a delicious feast of leafy vegetables. As it slowly glided along, the children watched in awe, noticing every twist, turn, and trail. There were lots of questions, thoughtful conversations, and moments of quiet wonder as we observed our special visitor.

After our adventure together, it was time to say goodbye. We carefully returned our little friend to the garden, reminding ourselves that every creature belongs in its own home.

These magical moments nurture curiosity, language, kindness, and a love of the natural world, supporting the EYFS through meaningful, hands-on exploration and discovery.

🥕🧁 During June, our toddlers enjoyed taking part in a healthy baking activity, making delicious vegetable muffins using fresh fruits and vegetables.

The children worked together, taking turns, sharing resources, and following the recipe step by step. They explored early maths by talking about measurements, counting ingredients, and filling the cake tray, while developing their communication and language through discussions about the recipe and the different vegetables they used.

This experience supported the EYFS by promoting healthy lifestyles through Personal, Social and Emotional Development, encouraging Communication and Language, introducing early Mathematics, and developing fine motor skills through Physical Development. Practical, hands-on activities like these help children build confidence, independence, and develop positive attitudes towards healthy eating.
