πŸŽƒπŸ§‘ Pumpkin carving fun in the toddler room! πŸ§‘πŸŽƒ

Our little ones have been busy exploring pumpkins and sharing their own brilliant ideas for what they wanted to create! From Spider-Man, bats and taxis to happy faces, we had some very creative little minds at work!

Activities like this are a fantastic way to develop the children's fine motor skills as they explore different tools and materials (with adult support, of course!). They also help build their mathematical skills as we talk about shapes, sizes, counting and comparing pumpkins, as well as their understanding of the world as they explore the pumpkins, feel the different textures and learn about Halloween traditions. πŸŽƒπŸ‚

🫧 β€œBubbling Magic Potionsβ€πŸ«§
This activity supports several areas of the EYFS curriculum through imaginative, hands-on exploration. Children develop their Understanding the World as they investigate different materials, colours and textures, mix ingredients and observe changes, encouraging curiosity and early scientific thinking. Communication and Language is supported as children describe their potions, discuss their ideas, learn new vocabulary and explain what they think might happen. The activity promotes Physical Development through scooping, pouring, stirring and manipulating small objects, helping to strengthen fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Through creating their own magical potions, children develop Expressive Arts and Design, using their imagination, experimenting with colour and creating their own ideas. Mathematics is encouraged through comparing quantities, counting ingredients and exploring concepts such as more, less and full or empty. The activity also supports Personal, Social and Emotional Development as children make independent choices, build confidence, share resources and collaborate with others. Overall, this engaging activity provides a playful, sensory-rich learning experience that encourages exploration, creativity, problem-solving and a love of learning.

πŸŠβ€β™€οΈSwimming πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ
Swimming supports children aged 3–4 years in all seven areas of the EYFS. It promotes physical development by improving coordination, balance and gross motor skills. It supports personal, social and emotional development by building confidence, independence and positive relationships. Swimming also develops communication and language through listening to instructions and learning new vocabulary. Children explore mathematical concepts such as counting and size, develop curiosity about water through Understanding the World, and express creativity through songs, movement and imaginative play. Swimming stories and rhymes can also support early literacy. Overall, swimming provides enjoyable learning opportunities that support children's holistic development and school readiness.

πŸ•Making pizza πŸ• Following on from the children's interest of modelling playdough we talked about making pizzas and made pizzas using playdough throughout the week. So this week we have created a activity to encourage the children and turn their imagination to life .
The children used self independence skills using child safe Knifes to cut vegetables for our pizzas. We used fine motor skills to spread and top our pizzas .

Our nursery children had a fantastic time on their trip to the Commercial Vehicle Museum! 🚌

There was so much excitement as the children explored the different vehicles, spotted buses and trucks, and learned all about how transport has changed over the years. 🚚🚐

It was a wonderful day full of curiosity, smiles and new experiences. A big thank you to everyone at the museum for making us feel so welcome! πŸ’›
