✅ There are two perspectives in every situation.

✅ Avoid 'black and white' thinking.

✅ Ask yourself if there's another way of looking at the situation.

✅ We all look at life through the lens of our own experience. That doesn't make it 100% right, only our experience.

✅ If we had different life experiences to date, then we would also have different viewpoints and feel different about things.

✅ Remembering these helps us navigate through our day/week/month/year/life so much easier.

✅ Remember these facts whenever you feel yourself getting triggered in situation.

✅ Multi-tasking creates a huge drain on your brain's resources. An adult brain weighs about 3lbs, but uses up 20% of your body's energy. This energy is meant to be digesting your food, repairing your cells, boosting your immune system……

✅ Try to multi-task as little as possible. When you know that there are times you are going to have to multi-task, then single-task as much as possible at other times.

✅ If you multi-task you are like a phone/lap-top with too many tabs opened. You may not realise just how many are open until the battery charge runs out completely.

✅ Make sure that YOU feature on your own 'To Do' list.

✅ Make sure that the final entry on your 'To Do' list is not YOU.

✅ If you try to be like someone else it won't work, as they are meant to be them, and you are meant to be you.

✅ Be your authentic self today and notice how good you feel.

Watch your feelings, they will show you what you are thinking. ‘What-if’ thoughts are future based thinking. ‘If-only’ thoughts are past based thinking. We don’t have control of either. Use the word ‘focus’ to blend with whatever you are doing right now and notice how much better you feel.

Watch the words that you are saying internally and externally. Each of these words are creating our moods, because thoughts make feelings.

A very good thing to do is to focus on what's good in you, others and in general. Watch how quickly your mood lifts once you do this.

For many, January is a hard, cold month…

When everyone is setting new goals, laying down righteous ground rules and striving to become a better version of themselves, some of us are fighting to find ourselves each day...

You see, December is a month of giving, and some of us, come January, are completely and utterly spent.

A month of remembering everyone, and remembering absolutely everything.

A month of including everyone and of reaching out to each and every person we have ever known.

A month of reaching breaking point every day trying to have fun, to be the ultimate hostess, to be the perfect guest.

A month of stretching ourselves financially, emotionally and of letting our boundaries be breached by many... in the spirit of the season.

And then January hits and bam... before we can even begin the arduous task of clearing away the festivities, we are expected to jump on the ‘new year, new you’ bandwagon and transform ourselves entirely.

For some of us this is just too much.

January is the darkest and most depressing month of the year and for many sensitive souls, the barrage of ‘advice’ on how we ‘should’ be living, is just too much.

So perhaps this is a safe place to say that maybe it’s okay to take a week or two to recover and to just be kind to ourselves before demanding better.

And for those of us who really do fall low in the darkest month of the year. For those of us who have given too much and to whom the future looks bleak - perhaps this is the right place to say - you are absolutely fine the way you are. Just stay.

Take some time to breathe.

Take some time to not think about anything much at all except breathing in and breathing out.

Take some time to build back up, not tear your yourself down.

For many, this month is a mountain that looks unclimbable.

I agree with most of these (not the one that life is meaningless though). Everyone is on their own journey of awakening and Mindfulness is a fantastic tool on that journey.

Every moment spent in the present moment is an opportunity to connect with the Real Self inside, and when you keep connecting with that part, your own internal guidance system will keep moving you in the direction that's right for you.
