Face masks mandatory on driving lessons from 30th November

Concern over new variant Omicron, and rising infection rates in general, has prompted government to mandate the wearing of face coverings in professional driving lessons.

GOV.UK states that the public and staff will be required to wear face coverings in the settings listed from 4am on 30 November 2021 and specifically highlights that face coverings must be worn in "any car, van or HGV, during a professional driving lesson, a formal driving test, or during one of the practical tests for giving driving instruction."
The legal requirement to wear face coverings in those areas specified in the latest government advice will be reviewed in 3 weeks’ time.

Congratulations to Tony Hoxhia on passing first time at Barnet in the replacement vehicle on a very rainy Monday.

This was the first Driving test centre that I attended with a pupil when I became a driving instructor many many moons ago. Alas, Capitol house in Winchmore Hill is no more.
I was a bit gutted when it closed for tests a good few years back but with the help of the late Gordon Thongs George and myself and a few other instructors, we scuppered the Dsa’s plan to close it and it remained open for a further 5 years until they sneakily opened the Enfield test centre and closed this one without notice.

The big fella did it first time with just 2 driver faults. Well done James Tirebuck.
