Last Tuesday, Lord Sales gave the BAILII Sir Henry Brooke Annual Lecture, titled "Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and the Law".
Amongst other things, Lord Sales discussed the possibility of an "Algorithm Commission" which would scrutinise implementation and deployment of predictive algorithms.
One commentator described it as "one of the most sensible talks on AI I have ever heard... It was refreshing and grounding to hear such an authoritative and skilled legal voice give their take on all of this from a principled perspective."
