We are so excited to announce that next Sunday 12th March, we will be holding our first ever Tango Ball in collaboration with Imperial Tango Society!

Noche de Tango will be a very special evening of non-stop dancing and a spectacular student performance! Dress up and join us for a glamorous evening celebrating the very best of university tango.

We are also honoured to have the amazing Ariel Yanovsky and Silvia Bivolaru teaching a class to start off the evening, 4:30-6pm.

If you are new to tango/ have never danced before, we will also be holding a beginners class at 4:30-6pm, and the ball is the perfect introduction to the tango scene!

This will be followed by a student performance at 7pm. Members of the UCL and Imperial Tango societies, most of them in their early stages of tango have been rehearsing non-stop over the past two months to prepare a show-stopping number for you all! Please come along and show them your support😆.

💃🏼Exciting announcement:💃🏼

Next Wednesday (16th November) we will have the first half of a Tango x Salsa society exchange 😆

This means that we will need some of you, to come with us and teach the basics of tango to the salsa society members. It will be a fully student-led class followed by a joint social (which everyone is invited to join) with the 2 societies.

If you would like to come and help teach tango to the salsa members, please let us know. Of course, everyone is welcome to join for the social! 💃🏼🕺🏼

SPOOKY TANGO- Monday 31st October:

Make sure you all come along to our classes next Monday for a spooky evening of Halloween tango.

You are all invited to dress up in the spirit of Halloween (although this is not mandatory). There will be snacks and scary, dramatic tango music.

After the classes end at 9pm we will go for drinks in a bar near UCL.

🎃 Those of you who are interested in joining for drinks, could you please let us know so we have an indication of numbers, to book a table 🎃

Our classes this Monday (17th) will be the same time and place as last week:

Beginners 1: 7-8pm
Beginners 2: 8-9pm

Both classes are the same so pick one and come along. These will be our last taster sessions of the year so make the most of the free tango whilst you can!

ALSO- we will go on a Tango Society outing to the Institute bar at 9pm for the live Jazz, so get ready for a tango meets jazz fusion! 🕺🏼🕺🏼

International Arrivals Week and Freshers Week taster sessions!

Welcome back to another year of UCL tango!

To kick off UCL tango 2022-23, we will be hosting two outdoor taster sessions on the Wilkins Terrace.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have been dancing tango for a while, come along for some fun and relaxed outdoor tango.

The first session will be at 3pm on Thursday 22nd September and the second will be at 5pm on Thursday 29th September.

They will both take place on the Wilkins Terrace and are free to join!

So! After many questions and a tad of wait, here are the hours, locations & rules for the Tango tasters.
The first taster will be taking place in Lewis's building dance studio between 7 & 9pm on Monday the 11th of October. Come as you are (like Nirvana's second song on Spotify, Nevermind 4ever), as long as you are comfortable dancing with what you are wearing.
The second taster will take place from 7pm to 9pm on Monday the 18th of October, the room is still up for change (if the first room ever happens to not correspond to our needs). Same rules apply as taster n1.
Last rule: Have fun

TL;DR: 7 to 9pm Monday 11th First Fresher
Room: Lewis's building dance studio
Monday 18th Second Fresher, same time, potentially different room
Bring comfy shoes & NO T-REX COSTUMES

The UCL Argentine Tango Society ho ho ho hopes you are all doing well, and would like to invite you to our online 2020 “Christmas and Hanukkah” social event! ❄️

If you don’t celebrate the two of them, please do not worry, some people in the committee don’t either. It’s more about getting together and have a fun night with friends! 😁

Also, if you are not (yet) part of the society.... well, we are sorry for you because you've missed one HECK of a semester! BUT it's never too late to join. Come to the online social, get to know everyone and you'll see why you have to join our regular tango lessons next term! 😛

On Tuesday the 22nd of December at 7pm English time, join us for a DELIGHTFUL and festive programme, to celebrate the end of this terrible year. You will be paired up with other members of the society, and will get to know everyone by the end of the night!

The programme:
1. A Xmas-Hannukah pop-quiz to test your historical, cultural and pop-culture references.
2. A contest of the “Best/ cheesiest end of the year Rom-Com scenario”. 👩‍💻

Put-on your most ridiculous Xmas or Hanukkah jumpers, and join the UCL Argentine Tango Society’s second social event.
