Our babies had lots of fun exploring this animal-themed tuff tray! 🐒🦒

With animal figures, picture cards and natural materials to discover, the children had opportunities to look closely, recognise different animals and hear their names and sounds as practitioners played alongside them.

INSET Day - A Valuable Training Workshop! 🗒️

What a valuable and thought-provoking training workshop! Our session focused on some key skills that make a real difference in our everyday work — effective communication, working respectfully with others, giving constructive feedback to parents, and taking time to reflect and improve.

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and think about how we can continue to provide the best support for children, families and our colleagues.

🎓Graduation Day at Amelia House!

Last Thursday, we celebrated a very special milestone for our preschool children as they prepare for the next chapter of their learning journey.

It was a lovely day shared with children, families and our nursery team, celebrating how much the children have grown, learned and developed during their time with us.

We are so proud of each and every one of them and wish them every happiness as they take their next steps into school.

Growing Our Own Vegetables 🍅🌱

The children have been helping to care for the plants in our nursery garden, taking turns to water them and observing the tomatoes as they grow and change.

Through first-hand experiences like this, children begin to understand what plants need to grow, where some of our food comes from, and the importance of caring for living things.

These experiences encourage curiosity, responsibility and an understanding of the natural world around them. 🌿

A little reminder to our Amelia House families that the nursery will be closed on:

📚 Friday, 28 August: INSET Day
🌿 Monday, 31 August:Summer Bank Holiday

We will reopen on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 and look forward to welcoming the children and families back 🤍

Every child at Amelia House has a dedicated Key Person who takes the time to get to know them, understand their interests and support their individual learning journey.

Whether it’s sitting together during a drawing activity, exploring new ideas or celebrating everyday achievements, these meaningful interactions help children feel safe, valued and confident to learn.

If you’d like to know more about your child’s development or next steps in learning, please don’t hesitate to speak to your child’s Key Person. They’re always happy to share how your little one is growing and thriving with us 💛

Children are naturally curious, and experiences like these provide opportunities to explore, ask questions and test their own ideas.

Using a range of tools, the children investigated colours, practised pouring and developed their coordination as they explored at their own pace.
