DIRTY LOOK
Desire and Decay in Fashion
A London Art Portfolio drawing and sketching visit for all art and design students to inspire new ideas, and alternative narratives in and around re-defining the future possibilities in fashion Design!

A brilliant fashion design exhibition that exudes creative curation and a sense of theatre and performance, one that embodies an obsessive desire to explore the potential of dirt within fashion, not as a mistake nor a defect, but as an intentional material language.

Dirt becomes a barometer of desire: seen as a mark, residue, trace, or as relief — sitting on or embedded into the surface of the fabric of the garment itself.

This exhibition shouts out the beauty of desire and decay.

Fashion Photography & Styling
London Art Portfolio

Explore how style, props, lighting, monochrome vs colour theory and a range of visual effects can be tested, prototyped and iterated both in studio and through specialist digital software. The aim is to capture, construct, and communicate the visual concept, narrative, theme, cultural references and core design values of a fashion design collection.

These skills are transferable and can be applied across multiple specialist creative industries including advertising, re-branding, film, events, theatre, music festival production and wider cultural programming.

Remember to maintain a spirit of curiosity, play, experimentation and discovery throughout the process. In this way you will build up a successful portfolio for University or professional applications.

Photography as Sculpture
How to Build Concepts from the Camera as a Lens at London Art Portfolio

The camera is not only a documenting tool, but an idea generator. Working from 2D photography into 3D form becomes its own divergent evolution. This is where photographs can turn into objects. The photograph becomes a seed for new ideas, not the final conclusion.
It can function across any field of art or design, not only as a finished outcome, but also as a generative process.

As the image leaves the flat 2D surface and starts to inhabit physical space, the transition becomes multidimensional, unpredictable and more innovative. It opens up more potential possibilities !

Through this process we can use the camera + light + props + unconventional studio materials to bend perception, to build illusion or sculpt emotion, to construct a certain presence rather than just capture it.

This is where new ideas are born:
Where photography becomes not proof of reality but a maker of new realities!!
