✨ Every fortnight, our students bring ballet beyond the studio and into Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, sharing moments of joy, connection, and artistry with patients, visitors, and staff.

These performances often create powerful emotional connections, with both patients and students moved to tears by the experience. Through dance, our students learn the true impact of their art while giving something meaningful back to the local community.

📹 This week, the roles were reversed as Year Two student Barbara stepped behind the camera to bring her own choreographic work, “Actaeon’s Quietus” to life.
Working with the National Gallery ahead of a special members’ event, she explored how movement, lighting, and sound can come together to create a unique artistic experience.

“This project was something completely new. I’ve always danced, but I’d never been on the other side. Being behind the cameras, choosing the best angles, the lighting, and the choreography was challenging but completely rewarding.”

🎥 Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes as her vision takes shape.

💫 Graduate Update

After completing her first three years of training with English National Ballet School, Haru Yokoo joined our Graduate Artists Programme in 2025. While training with GAP has been touring with in Sleeping Beauty and more recently in My First Ballet: Cinderella.

We're thrilled to announce she will now be joining the company as an Artist.

"My time at GAP was incredibly valuable for me. One of the biggest highlights was having the opportunity to perform with the company, where I was able to dance alongside amazing dancers, observe them closely, and learn from them directly. During this year, after graduating from school and becoming more involved with English National Ballet, I learned how to push myself independently and continue growing as an artist.

I am very grateful for all the support I have received, and I am beyond excited to be joining the company soon."

🎓 Class of 2026 | Graduate Spotlight

From water polo to ballet ... for ENBS student Jean-Loup Visconti ballet was not always the plan.

Before discovering dance, he spent years focused on competitive swimming before later moving into water polo. It was only at the age of 14, after a visit to the theatre with his uncle to watch La Scala Ballet perform Gymnopédie, that everything changed.

Now in his final term Jean-Loup reflects on his time at ENBS:

“Both the artistic and academic staff here are incredibly supportive and reassuring, from the physios and teachers to the safeguarding team. What supported me the most was the personalised guidance and feedback I received from my tutors.”

Jean-Loup is looking ahead to the next chapter of his professional journey, having secured a contract with National Moravian-Silesian Ballet in the Czech Republic. 🇨🇿
