My name is Tyler and I create custom singing reels and offer vocal lessons that help singers find their true, authentic sound! SINGING REELS: I professionally record, edit, and compile your very own vocal reel from the comfort of my own dreamy home studio! Here's what it will look like:

-You select 4 songs you want on your reel (I can help with selection if you're stuck between a few!)

-A 2 hour recording session where we will record 40 second sections of three songs and one FULL song, AND you help me select the best take.

- A 3-4 minute video with your songs compiled together and headshot(s) of your choice to go with. VOICE LESSONS: Whether you're a seasoned professional and would like to improve your craft, or if you're someone who's never taken lessons before, we can assist you with a combination of proper technique, hard work, and help understanding the structure and function of the voice. Lessons are taught in a variety of styles, from pop, classical, Musical Theatre, jazz, blues, and folk. ABOUT:
Tyler McKinnon is the founder and primary vocal coach of TM Vocalists. He has been active in the industry as a singer, actor, writer, composer and director for more than 15 years collectively. Tyler has his MA in Musical Theatre Performance, and has had the privilege performing alongside artists such as Ben Folds, Ruben Studdard, and The Canadian Tenors to name a few. 2025 was a year of new professional ventures and some pretty great collaborations that I’m proud to share:

In September 2025 I accepted singing teaching positions with and and it’s been such a rewarding experience. I’m looking forward to continuing with both Laine and Urdang in 2026.

and I submitted our song, “Sunbird” this summer for the Best New Song Prize. We ended up winning the runner up prize, a huge honour and recognition of our work, thank you , , Stiles and Drewe and all those involved in organizing, performing and making this event happen.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m so happy to say that I will be accepting private students once again, on Thursdays! If you’re interested in booking in lessons, just DM me.

There were, of course, lots of “no’s” and “next times” of this year, which doesn’t always make it to the instagram feed but it’s important to mention.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you look back on the good AND bad of 2025. Don’t forget to notice how you’ve grown, to ask what changes you’d like to bring with you into 2026, and may you unburden yourself of whatever doesn’t serve you anymore.❤️😊

If history has taught me anything, it’s that in the past I’ve been terrible at receiving feedback. I would deflect, get defensive and over think things, whether I thought of it as ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ feedback.

Part of posting my students reviews is, of course, promoting my business, and the other bit is accepting these kind words, and unlearning defensive behaviours I’ve hidden behind in the past. Here’s to more feedback, most importantly, feedback that is asked for and constructive! :) x

Claire Ritchie- Vocal Reel 2022

Claire really wowed me with her vocals and I had such a great time recording this with her! I also learned some new rep on the way when she sang, ‘You’ve Got Possibilities’ from the musical “It’s a Bird…It’s A Plane…It’s Superman” a 1966 Broadway musical based on, you guessed it: Superman!
