From grid to gesture.

At Inchbald, drawing isn’t simply a way of presenting an idea, it’s a way of thinking.

In the advanced stages of the design process, grids can bring order, rhythm and structure to a landscape, while hand drawing allows ideas to remain fluid, intuitive and open to change.

Here, a student is exploring the relationship between geometry and the hand-drawn line, testing, refining and evolving the design through drawing.

Because sometimes the most important part of the design happens between the lines.
