Today’s menu. When the weather outside is grey, we like to bring the colours in through the food the children eat.
Fresh peppers, fruit smoothies and apple compote. All homemade and the children get to make their own pizzas too!

They’ll have to wait for their pizzas until after their 50 MINUTES OF SUPERVISED HOMEWORK though!

We have been so busy with the start of the new term, that we haven’t even had time to post!

The SPRING TERM has begun and we welcomed back old faces and new. The children have been working hard to complete their homework and been rewarded with some delicious home-cooked food.

One child, who has been coming for a while, said
‘ I never liked guacamole but I tried it here and now I love it!’
Sometimes it takes a child a while to try new things but they will!

Music to our ears 😃

The Homework Café starts next week! We can’t wait to welcome the children with a calm environment in which to do their homework, supported by two teachers.

No nasties for dinner either- plenty of fruit and veg and home cooked food, eaten around the table with no devices!

What a year it’s been. Our first year running the Homework Café has come to an end and we have learnt 3 main things.

1. The kids love it!
2. The parents love it!
3. We love it!

Just finished three days of our first winter camp at The Homework Cafe. What a great few days!

Now taking bookings for our Spring Term after school club so please share our email with anyone you think may be interested.

DAY 3

So on our third and last day of our first holiday winter camp, this is what we did ....

Made fresh pasta from scratch and had it for lunch
Wrote recipes using instructional language
Made cookies
Found the area of our cookies
Did a maths and science challenge of building structures with spaghetti and marshmallows

Oh and had the best time!
Thank you to all the fabulous children who came to our camp. We have loved it but now need a cup of tea!!

Day 2 of the Holiday Homework Café and what have we done? We have only... made salad, completed maths problems stuck around the room, made savoury pancakes with a variety of fillings, flipped pancakes, written fruit poems, calculated costings, made art flip books, made fruit skewers with chocolate sauce and role played buying food items in a café! That’s all! Who’s ready for Day 3?
